Luxury Hotels In Argentina

Argentina's luxury hotels turn a national journey into contrasting kinds of stay. Buenos Aires brings grand urban hospitality; Mendoza makes wine country part of the experience. Estancias offer a quieter country-house rhythm, while Iguazu, the Patagonian lakes and Ushuaia place the landscape at the center of the visit. Choose the experiences you want to combine first, then select the hotels that give each region its own character.

Three Distinct Argentine Hotel Styles

Area or StayWhy Consider ItBefore You Book
Alvear Palace: A Grand Buenos Aires StayAlvear Palace Hotel European elegance and rooms and suites decorated in a modern French style. Choose this classic urban setting when the hotel itself should be part of a formal city experience.
The Vines: A Uco Valley Wine RetreatThe Vines Resort & Spa Villas at the foot of the Andes in Los Chacayes, Tunuyan, surrounded by Mendoza vineyards. Choose a vineyard setting when time outside the city matters more than an urban Mendoza base.
Llao Llao: A Patagonian Lake ResortLlao Llao Hotel A Bariloche resort framed by lakes Moreno and Nahuel Huapi, with a historic Bustillo building and a contemporary Moreno wing. Consider it for a mountain-and-lake stay; decide whether historic character or the newer wing better suits your accommodation preference.

Estancias: The Pampas Or The Northwest

Estancia La Bamba de Areco brings a colonial-style house, courtyard and park to San Antonio de Areco in Buenos Aires province. Rooms and suites are spread across three buildings. Choose it for a country-house chapter rather than another urban hotel night.

House of Jasmines gives an estancia stay a northwestern setting: a 100-hectare estate at the foot of the Andes in Salta province. Gardens, an outdoor pool and La Table's regionally inspired cooking make it a base for time at the property as well as exploring the northwest. This is a different landscape from the Pampas, not an interchangeable estancia address.

Iguazu: A Rainforest Lodge Or A Hotel Inside The Park

Awasi Iguazu is outside Iguazu National Park, with a dedicated private guide and four-wheel-drive vehicle for each villa. Excursions can be tailored to your interests, including visits to both the Argentine and Brazilian sides of the falls. Choose this lodge for a private rainforest itinerary shaped around your pace.

Gran Melia Iguazu is inside the national park. It offers a more immediate falls setting, with an infinity pool overlooking the Devil's Throat. The accommodation decision is whether you want the falls to frame hotel time or a secluded lodge with private excursion planning.

Ushuaia: Forest Trails Or The Beagle Channel

Arakur Ushuaia sits inside Cerro Alarken Nature Reserve, with forest trails starting at the hotel. Los Cauquenes Resort & Spa is on the Beagle Channel shore with direct beach access. Choose the reserve for walks from the property or the waterfront for time beside the channel; these two settings give a southern stay different daily rhythms.

Combine Regions For Different Experiences

Buenos Aires And Mendoza

Start with city dining and an urban hotel, then move to the Uco Valley for a vineyard-centered stay. The contrast works particularly well when you want both the capital's hospitality and time immersed in wine country.

Iguazu And Ushuaia

Pair the Atlantic Rainforest with Tierra del Fuego when nature is the reason for the journey. Iguazu contributes falls and jungle excursions; Ushuaia adds a channel-and-forest perspective at the southern end of Argentina. Choose this combination for contrasting environments, with the season and flight sequence considered together.

Questions About Argentina

When Should I Visit Argentina For A Multi-Region Hotel Trip?

Choose the season around the part of the journey you most want to experience. December to March is Argentina's summer and a strong starting point for Patagonian lakes and mountain plans. Spring and fall suit a Buenos Aires-and-Iguazu itinerary; winter can work for northern landscapes or an Andean snow holiday. These choices serve different interests, rather than establishing one best season for the whole country.

Pack for regional differences: Patagonia can be cold and windy, the north is subtropical, and Mendoza's Cuyo region has a wide day-to-night temperature range. A summer city wardrobe alone will not cover every stop.

What Should I Check When Connecting Through Buenos Aires?

Check the airport code on each flight, not just the city name. Ezeiza (EZE) is outside the city and handles most long-haul arrivals alongside some domestic and regional services. Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP) is in the city and mainly serves domestic and neighboring-country flights. A Buenos Aires connection may therefore involve two different airports.

Match the arrival and onward airports before deciding where the capital hotel stop belongs. If they differ, allow for a separate ground journey; do not treat the connection as an ordinary change of gate.

Can One Iguazu Park Ticket Cover Both Sides Of The Falls?

Plan the Argentine and Brazilian park entries separately. The Argentine general ticket covers the enabled daytime circuits and trails in Iguazu National Park; the Brazilian ticket is for Parque Nacional do Iguacu in Brazil. Buy through the respective official park channels, with the Brazilian visit scheduled for its chosen day and time.

Decide which side you want to visit on each day before arranging the excursion. A guide who can organize both sides does not turn the two parks into a single ticket.

How Should I Choose A Mendoza Stay For Wine Tasting Or Winemaking?

Decide whether you want to taste wines or take part in making them. At The Vines, estate tastings are a different experience from a blending session, where you experiment with varietals and hand-bottle a personal blend. Harvest work adds another kind of participation, tied to the grapes and the winemaking calendar.

Choose the experience first and coordinate it with the stay. A vineyard address gives the right setting, but it does not by itself establish which session is available or included in your reservation.

Where Should I Base A Gastronomic Journey In Argentina?

Buenos Aires and Mendoza offer two strong starting points. The Michelin restaurant selection covers both destinations and their surrounding regions: Buenos Aires brings urban dining, while Mendoza combines restaurants with wine-country landscapes. In Chacras de Coria, Susana Balbo Winemaker's House & Spa Suites has La VidA, a one-Star restaurant with a seven-course menu connecting cooking and winemaking.

Choose a city base when several restaurants matter to your trip, or a wine-country stay when a particular meal and its setting should anchor it. Make the dining plan alongside the hotel choice; a restaurant distinction evaluates the meal, not the hotel room.
