Six Senses Shaharut

On this boundless horizon, Six Senses Shaharut Resort and Spa in Israel nestles into a dramatic cliff, at one with the almost-supernatural panorama, where sunsets meld into the orange dunes to become an inky sky scattered with stardust. Biblical Heritage of Ancient Negev Desert. Fascinating, enchanting, and of biblical proportions, the Negev Desert is the epitome of desert landscapes.

Destination

The journey to Shaharut is part of the story as you transfer through the timeless landscape from Tel Aviv or Jerusalem in three-and-a-half hours or three hours from Petra. Or fly from Tel Aviv to Eilat in 50 minutes, followed by a 45-minute transfer.

Accommodations

Suites and villas offer uninterrupted desert panoramas and are complete with a private swimming pool for your ultimate hideaway. Your GEM is on hand to make every activity (or inactivity) a reality. Look out to desert sunrises and starry nights. Traditional desert hospitality is expressed by the generosity of spirit, evident in the resort's 60 suites and pool villas, thoughtfully designed and integrated into the desert topography to preserve the natural terrain. Six Senses luxury hotel in Israel features villas built from and inspired by local rocks and pigments, with many furnishing elements sourced from a partnership with local community artisans.

Dining

Lovingly homegrown and hearty. Six Senses Shaharut offers a creative approach to cuisine, combining the best Israeli and Mediterranean influences while embracing the Eat With Six Senses philosophy of local, fresh and seasonal produce. Where possible, ingredients are harvested from the resort's organic gardens and carefully selected farmers at the nearby kibbutzim. Also, being respectful of local culture and traditions and, while not being kosher certified, serving ingredients such as pork and shellfish is avoided.

Midian - Relaxed fine dining - Offering breakfast and dinner with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking expansive desert views. Leisurely breakfast and Israeli-influenced dinner. The signature restaurant features a show kitchen and tabun oven producing progressive ethnic cuisine with Mediterranean and Israeli influences. The only thing that may pull you out of the awe-inspiring beauty of your surroundings may be the promise of a mouthwatering meal and abundant Israeli flavors. The daily crafted a la carte dinner menu includes wine pairing options. Creativity, experimentation, and emotion infuse for a deeper story behind the cuisine to engage all of your senses.

Edom View - Light bites and desert sights. Prime butcher cuts grilled to perfection are the order of the day: simple mezze and events space. A relaxed outdoor space features Middle Eastern-style mezze with lunch favorites, light bites, snacks, sweets, and an array of herbal teas. Once a week, the area offers a hafla-style evening which includes tajine dishes served on a central communal table and a traditional Bedouin underground Zarb alongside taboon grilled vegetables and sweet delicacies: all the ingredients needed for the ultimate desert dining experience.

Jamillah - Bar and Music Shrine. Classic bar food, light bites, and afternoon high tea with loose tea selections are served together with crafted cocktails, a range of premium spirits, and a variety of homemade infused liquors. Serving a menu of inspired cocktails using local ingredients, classics with a twist, and traditional favorites, there is something for everyone. But this is much more than a bar. Jamillah is a unique social listening space that encapsulates the essence of the ancient Incense Route. Embark on an arduous journey to enjoy a hand-picked desert soundtrack, played every night, from one of the most extraordinary record collections in the world.

Pool Bar - Casual poolside snacks, drinks, desserts, and a mouthwatering array of homemade ice cream, all served as you relax beside the pool (after all, a few laps will make you hungry). Juice bar - Located by the main pool, a variety of drinks, refreshments, and poolside snacks are available throughout the day. Guests are invited to relax and enjoy their day by the pool while sipping on fresh smoothies and refreshing cocktails. Don't miss a visit to the ice cream stall, featuring a mouthwatering array of homemade ice creams.

There is a Nail Bar for manicures and pedicures, offering a relaxed moment to enjoy a healthy drink or chilled glass of wine over a good conversation. The Alchemy Bar is a fun experience to mix your blend of all-natural spa botanicals.

Camel Farms

Earth Lab showcases sustainability initiatives together with simple life-hacks. For example, there are camel stables with an arena and grooming area, from where early morning and twilight camel rides set out.

They are blending into desert life and proudly being the first hotel in Israel to achieve LEED Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Based on the sustainable design and construction, which seamlessly blends the hotel structure into the landscape, achieving a 25 percent reduction in energy consumption. Energy usage is optimized by high-efficiency mechanical and electrical systems and energy-efficient lighting systems, including motion and occupancy sensors. Food waste is composted to feed the organic garden, and water is bottled on-site to avoid plastic. Used cooking oil from the kitchen is donated to make biodiesel in the community. The hotel has zero discharge of liquids into the environment, using a palm grove to absorb 100 percent of treated wastewater on site.

Come and see us at the Earth Lab to learn about the resort's sustainability efforts to reduce consumption, produce locally, and support local communities and ecosystems during your stay. The experience is fun and interactive, so you can participate in workshops and engage with local community members who share their knowledge of local desert craftsmanship and sustainability.

Finally, as in all Six Senses resorts, still and sparkling drinking water is produced and bottled on-site in glass bottles. They have partnered with BevGuard brand filter to enhance the existing water supply and create high-quality drinking water without using plastic bottles. The guests, hosts, and camels love it!

Every Day a New Adventure

This extraordinary desert setting also presents a host of Israel activities & experiences for guests who want to venture out and about and off into the sunset!
