Fasano Boa Vista

Fasano Boa Vista is the countryside expression of the Fasano hotel brand. Set within Fazenda Boa Vista in Porto Feliz, in São Paulo state, it brings together lakes, gardens, golf and horses in a broad rural landscape. Brazilian architect Isay Weinfeld designed the hotel, giving it a low, horizontal profile and a close relationship with the land. The estate also contains private residences, with the hotel forming part of a much larger country setting.

The 1 Bedroom Suite is expansive and inviting. It spans two entire floors. Each floor is thoughtfully designed. At the forefront, a large balcony stands....

The arrival follows a pergola through a garden before reaching the reception and lobby. Beyond them, a veranda opens toward the lake. The central building sits into the slope, with the restaurant on a lower level and a large deck extending over the water. Curving accommodation wings follow the landscape on either side.

Wood, stone, stucco, leather and natural fibers give the interiors their texture. Concrete slats filter daylight along the corridors, while the rooms face outward across the farm. Weinfeld's design draws on the Brazilian countryside hotels of the 1950s and 1960s. Its long verandas and open views remain central to the experience of staying here.

The hotel has 46 rooms, with panoramic views across the farm. Balconies extend the living space outdoors, and some accommodations have direct access to the lake. Egyptian cotton sheets with a 300-thread count and goose-down pillows are part of the bedding.

Deluxe Rooms measure 646 square feet and have a large balcony. The Suite covers 1,290 square feet across two stories, also with a generous balcony and countryside views. That duplex arrangement is an important detail for anyone who prefers accommodation on a single level.

The Two Bedroom Suite measures 180 square meters. It is also arranged over two floors, with a large living room furnished with a sofa, two bedrooms and three balconies. One balcony has a fireplace. The separate bedrooms and shared living room give families or friends space to spend time together within the suite, while retaining their own sleeping areas.

Boa Vista Restaurant carries the Fasano family's Italian culinary tradition into the Brazilian countryside. The kitchen harvests fruit, vegetables and herbs from the estate for its daily specials, bringing local produce into the cooking. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here, with the lake forming part of the restaurant setting.

The menu ranges from buffalo mozzarella ravioli with tomato and basil to Parmesan risotto with sausage ragù. Braised lamb with creamy polenta and veal ossobuco with saffron risotto show the more substantial side of the kitchen. Seafood appears in risotto as well. These dishes sit naturally alongside the restaurant's Brazilian influences, without losing the Italian foundation of the cooking.

Breakfast has a buffet featuring products from small local producers and views over the lake. Picnics are another way to enjoy the grounds, with open countryside providing the setting. The hotel can be as much about meals outdoors as time in the main dining room.

The Lobby Bar is set in the billiards room. Cocktails, aperitifs and light meals accompany games of cards or snooker, and the sunset is part of its appeal. It is an informal place for a drink and something to eat, with the games room giving the evening a sociable focus.

The outdoor infinity pool looks across the farm. Its deck has sun loungers and a bar serving light dishes and cocktails, with changing rooms, showers and lockers nearby. A 25-meter lane is reserved for swimming during designated periods, so guests who swim laps have a dedicated stretch of water.

Spa Fasano has two hydromassage tubs, the Caminho das Pedras stone path and two pools, one heated and the other intended for relaxation. Children under 16 cannot use the spa; guests between 16 and 18 need an accompanying adult. These restrictions apply to the spa, not to the hotel's family facilities.

The treatment menu includes body massages, facials and couples' therapies. The property's Wellness Ritual combines a flower-and-spice foot soak, massage with lavender and orange oils, and a Scottish shower. Lomi Lomi uses long movements of the hands and forearms, while hot-stone and deep-tissue massages provide other approaches. The menu gives the spa a substantial role in a stay, with individual treatments as well as longer rituals.

The fitness center is within the spa complex. Equipment supports weight training and functional exercise, and personal training can be arranged. Tennis, beach tennis and squash add court sports to the estate's outdoor activities, with lessons organized through the concierge.

Fazenda Boa Vista has two golf courses, designed by Randall Thompson and Arnold Palmer. Both are 18-hole layouts. Players need a handicap and must reserve tee times at least 72 hours ahead, subject to availability. The club has a dress code and does not lend or rent equipment, so golfers need to bring their own clubs. Reception coordinates the arrangements.

The equestrian center includes stables, veterinary services, riding trails and polo fields. Riding lessons are available by arrangement, with options for beginners and experienced riders. The scale of the facilities reflects the estate's established horse-riding culture. For families visiting together, the choice of lesson can be adapted to each rider's experience rather than assuming that everyone follows the same session.

The Kids Club caters to children ages 3 to 14. Play spaces include an indoor playroom and an outdoor playground, with organized group activities on weekends. The hotel activity guide requires children under 10 to be accompanied by a guardian over 18. The small farm introduces children to animals including rabbits, goats, ponies and cows.

Bicycles are available for exploring the estate's paths. Helmets are required, and children under 14 must ride with a parent or guardian. Lakes, gardens and the farm give families several places to explore on foot as well. Between the play areas, riding and cycling, much of family life here takes place outside.

The hotel is reached from Rodovia Castello Branco at kilometer 102.5, in Porto Feliz. São Paulo is the main city gateway. Travelers flying into Guarulhos or Congonhas continue by road, with the journey depending on the airport and traffic. Staying on the estate keeps the restaurant, pools, spa and outdoor activities close at hand; a city visit requires a separate drive rather than a walk into a nearby neighborhood.

Why we love this hotel

Why we love this hotel

The restaurant uses fruit, vegetables and herbs harvested from the estate, letting you taste its produce in dishes combining Brazilian and Italian cooking.

The Lobby Bar serves light meals in its games room, so an informal evening can combine a bite to eat with billiards.

Electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle charging is available to hotel guests, making the property a practical choice for a countryside driving trip.
