The 28 private homes fall into four distinct groups. Six Meadow Homes are single-story, two-bedroom residences near the Village. Each sleeps up to four. Ten Big Timber Homes have one-, two-, or three-bedroom layouts and suit couples as readily as larger families. Ten three-bedroom Wilderness Estates provide the most generous shared living space. They have three primary suites, a full kitchen, a lofted game room, and room for up to eight guests. The two Historic Homes are Morris Ranch House and Blackfoot River Lodge. Each has four bedrooms and sleeps up to eight.

Although layouts differ, the homes favor residential comfort over conventional hotel-room formality. Decks and private hot tubs make good use of the outdoor setting. Kitchens or kitchenettes, laundry facilities, and living rooms give families space to settle in. Meadow Homes place guests closer to the Village. Wilderness Estates feel more secluded on their own acreage. The 1908 Morris Ranch House stands beside Elk Creek. Blackfoot River Lodge has broad river views from several decks. Selected Big Timber Homes and Wilderness Estates add a backyard tent during the warmer part of the year. Both Historic Homes do as well.

Glamping is organized as six separate camps: River, Creekside, Cliffside, Pinnacle, Moonlight, and North Bank. Each has six safari-style tents and its own dining pavilion, so camp life retains a small community feel even within a large resort. River Camp sits on the Blackfoot, Creekside follows Elk Creek, and Cliffside and Pinnacle look over the meeting of those waterways. Moonlight occupies a quieter stretch near Lookout Rock. North Bank is the only camp on the river's north side.

River, Creekside, Cliffside, Pinnacle, and Moonlight contain one- and two-bedroom tents. North Bank has two- and three-bedroom designs. It is the clearest tented choice for larger families. These are canvas accommodations, so guests remain aware of wind, rain, temperature, and the sounds of the ranch. Yet each tent has a private bathroom, electricity, heating, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a deck, and daily housekeeping. Dedicated camp teams and chefs support the experience. Breakfast and dinner are served in the pavilion. The camps operate seasonally, and exact dates should be confirmed for each stay.

The dining program moves between the Village, outdoor settings, and the camps. Pomp is the dinner restaurant. It pairs Continental cooking with a Western point of view and menus that follow the season. Trough handles casual breakfasts and lunches. Tank, next door, is the ranch's cocktail bar. The contrast is useful. A family can have an easy start before activities, then return to a more composed dinner without leaving the property.

Other meals use the landscape more directly. Shed is an open-air venue built around smoked meats, views, and live music when in season. Chuck Wagon dinners take place beside the river, with cooking over fire and a deliberately informal Western setting. Each glamping camp has a dedicated chef for pavilion breakfasts and dinners. Social Haus belongs to Green O, the nearby adults-only retreat, and is reserved for its guests rather than serving as a general restaurant for The Resort at Paws Up.

Horseback riding remains central to the ranch. Trail rides and cattle work draw on the property's working landscape. The Blackfoot and Clearwater rivers support guided fly-fishing. River floats and paddling provide a less technical way to spend time on the water. Sporting clays, archery, hiking, mountain biking, ATV excursions, and rappelling broaden the program beyond riding and fishing. Conditions and availability change through the year, so no single activity list applies to every visit.

The breadth of the program helps mixed-interest groups. One guest can spend the morning with a fishing guide while another rides, visits the spa, or explores a trail. It is also why a short stay can feel overfilled if every hour is scheduled. Leaving some open time for the riverbank, a porch, or an unhurried meal often makes better use of the setting than treating the ranch as a checklist.

Spa Town sits at the edge of a meadow, where a boardwalk links canvas treatment tents beneath the pines. Kids Corps of Discovery provides supervised children's programming, while families can also plan shared riding, river, and ranch experiences. The same spread of lodging and activities works for reunions, milestone celebrations, corporate retreats, and weddings. Groups can combine indoor meeting rooms with barns, restaurant spaces, patios, and outdoor sites. Bull Barn creates a distinctly Western reception setting. Private dining and guided activities can turn a gathering into a multi-day ranch program. A full camp can also be reserved. This gives one group all six tents and its shared pavilion.

Paws Up is in Greenough, 35 miles from Missoula International Airport. The drive takes roughly 45 minutes, and round-trip airport transportation is included with a stay. This access is unusually straightforward for a ranch of such scale, but the atmosphere changes quickly after leaving Missoula. The Blackfoot Valley, Garnet Mountain foothills, and long interior distances create a genuine sense of removal.

The resort best suits travelers who want privacy and a broad choice of organized outdoor experiences, yet prefer a house or well-equipped tent at day's end. Families and groups gain the widest range of layouts, though couples can find seclusion in a smaller Big Timber Home or a one-bedroom tent. Guests seeking a compact hotel where the spa, dining room, and bedroom are a few steps apart should expect a different rhythm. Here, movement across the ranch is part of the stay, and the choice between home and camp matters as much as the daily itinerary.
