The Agave King Suite is a 900-square-foot studio with a king bed and a sunken living room beneath vaulted ceilings. At 1,200 square feet, the Palm King Suite has a one-bedroom layout, with a sunken living room, vaulted ceilings and an indoor fireplace. Its private garden patio adds an outdoor fireplace as well as two chaise lounges and a breakfast table. A dining table, walk-in closet and generous vanity area complete the interior arrangement, with a deep soaking tub and shower in the bathroom.

The Valencia King Suite extends to 1,300 square feet. Its one-bedroom interior includes a king bed, sunken living room and fireplace, while the patio has its own whirlpool and outdoor fireplace. The two chaise lounges and breakfast table sit within a private garden setting. Commissioned artwork and regionally inspired decoration continue inside, alongside a walk-in closet and a bathroom with a soaking tub and shower.

Frette linens and down bedding dress the Stearns & Foster mattresses in these suites, with natural or hypoallergenic pillows available. A queen pullout sofa provides additional sleeping space in the named Agave, Palm and Valencia layouts, while a barista bar is another detail within each of these three categories.

The Hacienda is a 5,000-square-foot adobe home with three separate bedroom suites, each with its own bathroom. Wood-burning fireplaces appear in almost every room, and a full kitchen forms part of the house. Its private outdoor pool and spa sit alongside a spacious patio. The interior also has a dining room table and a pullout sleeper sofa, with commissioned artwork among the furnishings.

Hacienda-style ironwork and vintage tiling distinguish Spa House, a four-bedroom residence with four king bedrooms. A living room, indoor dining area and full kitchen lead into a layout that also includes a private gym. Outside are a private pool and spa, loungers, a barbecue, dining and seating areas. Soft neutral colors provide the backdrop to custom furnishings and artwork within the house. A private chef and concierge services can be arranged for this residence.

Casa Valencia takes a Mexican-Moroccan direction, with five individually designed bedrooms. Two king master suites, two further king bedrooms and a fifth bedroom with two double beds provide its sleeping accommodation. The house has a full kitchen, living room, separate indoor dining area and private gym. Its landscaped outdoor spaces contain a pool, outdoor kitchen, dining areas and loungers.

The Villas occupy a separate group at the heart of the resort. These residences have three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms, with a full kitchen and living room. Their private patios include outdoor dining space and a fireplace. A dedicated staff serves this collection of villas, distinct from the individual casita categories and the named private homes.

The Pony Room looks across the valley from a candlelit, modern hacienda setting, with al fresco tables forming part of the restaurant. Its Coastal Ranch cuisine draws on Baja and Southern California, sourcing ingredients from California's family farms, fishermen and ranchers.

The bar serves locally brewed craft beers, tequila, wines and handcrafted cocktails. Selections from The Pony Room also form the in-casita dining menu, bringing the restaurant's Coastal Ranch cooking into the suites.

Rein brings that coastal ranch approach to the adults-only Spa Pool, where palms rise around the dining setting and handcrafted cocktails accompany the food. Its private cabanas combine shaded lounge seating, sun loungers and plush furnishings. Rein's food and cocktails can also be served directly to the cabanas. At the separate Resort Pool, The Paddock also serves poolside food and drinks, with loungers and private cabanas beside the water and a game room nearby.

Racquet sports occupy a substantial part of Rancho Valencia. There are twelve Plexipave tennis courts and three European red-clay courts, surrounded by gardens and orange groves. One-on-one and group instruction are offered alongside recreational match play.

Three padel courts and four pickleball courts extend the racquet program. Combining elements of tennis and squash, padel is played on enclosed turf courts here, with private lessons and group clinics. The coaching team works across tennis, pickleball and padel.

The Spa is set among gardens and olive groves, with waterfalls forming part of its outdoor surroundings. Massage, facial and body treatments sit alongside a salon offering haircuts, coloring, blowouts, manicures and pedicures. Makeup services use Lawless Beauty products, and there is a spa boutique.

The Serenity Yoga Pavilion, a Pilates studio and a Movement Studio provide distinct places for exercise. Movement classes generally progress from a dynamic warmup and technique work to heavy-bag combinations, then core work. Boxing sessions incorporate kicks and knee strikes. Private and semi-private training is also offered.

Inside the spa gates, the fitness center has both indoor and outdoor space, with cardio equipment and stationary and free weights. The wider class program includes TRX, spin, strength and sculpt, as well as aqua and outdoor sessions.

The spa also has dedicated facial rooms with tiled outdoor showers, as well as lounge and relaxation areas. Elsewhere in the spa grounds, the Guided Hydrotherapy Circuit combines outdoor steam, a sauna and a cold plunge. Hand-painted tiles line the circuit's whirlpools, with fountains adding moving water to these outdoor bathing spaces.
