Best for

Delano works well for couples who want a South Beach stay with atmosphere, beach access, design history, pool time, restaurants, and bars in one place. It is strongest for travelers who want a polished Miami scene rather than a quiet residential retreat.

Room to consider

For stronger views, look at ocean-facing suite categories and higher-floor rooms where available. Poolside bungalows are better for guests who want direct connection to the pool scene, while penthouse-style accommodation is the most relevant choice when the suite itself should define the stay.

Insider tip

The renovated hotel features major restaurant concepts including Gigi Rigolatto and Mimi Kakushi, alongside Cafe Delano, Rose Bar, and poolside drinking and dining. The dining scene is a major part of the relaunch, with Italian, Japanese, cafe, cocktail, and beach-club energy under one address.

The original Delano opened in 1947 and became one of the defining hotels of post-war Miami Beach. Its slender white tower, tropical gardens, and dramatic social spaces later gained a new international audience when the property was reimagined in 1995. The latest restoration protects that architectural identity while updating the guest rooms, dining venues, pools, and wellness facilities for a modern stay.

The address at Collins Avenue and 17th Street places guests right on the beach. The wider South Beach district is also easy to reach. A day can include the ocean, shops on Lincoln Road, or events at the convention center. Collins Avenue adds many choices for the evening. Inside the hotel, lively public rooms contrast with calm rooms above the coast.

Delano Miami Beach has 171 accommodations. The structure includes 140 rooms, 21 suites, eight two-storey poolside bungalows, and two expansive three-bedroom penthouses. Rooms use a restrained palette, soft forms, and contemporary materials that allow the natural Miami light to remain central. Selected categories look toward the Atlantic, the pool, or the city skyline.

Rooms include smart televisions and Byredo bath products. Guests also receive Dyson hairdryers, Lavazza coffee machines, Steamery garment steamers, and premium minibars. Baloo weighted blankets are available on request. Many higher room types add walk-in storage and large bathrooms. Pet-friendly and accessible options widen the choice.

Suites add separate living areas and wider views. Types range from a 602-square-foot Partial Ocean View King Suite to larger one-bedroom and two-bedroom layouts. The 849-square-foot Ocean View King Suite has a private balcony. The 1,127-square-foot Ocean View One-Bedroom Suite adds living and dining space with a broad coastal outlook. A 2,160-square-foot Ocean View Two-Bedroom Penthouse suits families or friends. It gives them private bedrooms around a shared living area.

The eight poolside bungalows are among the most distinctive accommodations at Delano Miami Beach. Each two-storey bungalow measures about 972 square feet and sits beside the beachfront pool. The lower level contains living and dining space plus a bathroom, while the upper level holds a king bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. Sunlit patios extend the layout outdoors and overlook the hotel pool.

This layout gives bungalow guests access to Delano's social center with more privacy. It is easy to move between the bungalow, pool, beach, restaurants, and cabanas. The extra space also works well for a longer Miami Beach stay. It feels more like a home than a standard room.

The top floor of the Art Deco tower holds several of the hotel's largest layouts. The 2,354-square-foot City View Penthouse has three king bedrooms. It also has several living and dining areas. A large terrace comes with a bar, dining table, loungers, and fire pit. Views stretch across the Miami skyline and part of the ocean.

The 2,824-square-foot Ocean View Penthouse has three ensuite king bedrooms. Large spaces support time together. A water-facing terrace and clear Atlantic horizon shape the stay. Both penthouses work for private events and family trips. They also suit groups that want full-floor scale with luxury hotel service.

Gigi Rigolatto brings a coastal Italian dining concept to the pool and beachfront. The setting moves from an elegant dining room to outdoor tables, cabanas, sunbeds, and the Bellini Bar between the beach and pool. Italian dishes are designed with sharing in mind, creating an easy progression from lunch in the sun to dinner and cocktails.

The relationship between restaurant and resort is especially important here. Guests can dine outdoors, settle beside the pool, or return after a morning on the beach without leaving the hotel grounds. The menu and setting give Delano a true day-to-night venue rather than a restaurant that feels separate from the wider stay.

Mimi Kakushi is located on the fourth floor and is available to hotel guests and Delano Members Club members. The restaurant takes inspiration from Osaka in the 1920s, when Japanese tradition met jazz, modern art, and new international influences. Its sharing menu includes sushi, sashimi, tempura, gyoza, and contemporary interpretations of Japanese classics.

The Kintaro cocktail list draws on the silent-film era and the work of Japanese actor Sessue Hayakawa. This cinematic theme gives the bar program a clear identity without overtaking the food. An outdoor terrace and options for private dining add flexibility for intimate meals and group events.

Cafe Delano provides coffee, breakfast fare, and casual daytime dining. Rose Bar restores one of the property's best-known social spaces, serving cocktails and small plates in a glamorous lobby setting. Together, these venues allow guests to move from an informal morning to a more energetic evening within the same address.

The contrast is deliberate. Cafe Delano handles quick, relaxed moments, while Rose Bar returns the hotel to its long-standing place in Miami Beach nightlife. Guests can therefore choose between a quiet coffee, an oceanfront meal, Japanese dining, or late drinks without repeating the same atmosphere.

Two feature pools shape the outdoor experience. The ground-floor pool is the hotel's social focus, framed by tropical planting, dining, cabanas, and sunbeds. A second ocean-facing pool on the fourth floor provides an elevated view toward the Atlantic. Direct beach access connects both pool areas with the sand and sea.

The Source by Delano develops the wellness side of the hotel through fitness classes, restorative programming, and evolving spa rituals. A fitness studio supports daily training, while the beachfront location makes walking, swimming, and time outdoors part of the stay. Nothing Finer, the hotel's curated retail concept, adds a selective collection of fashion and lifestyle pieces.

Delano Miami Beach works best for guests who want an iconic South Beach hotel. It has a real design history, direct ocean access, and strong dining and bars. With 171 keys, it feels smaller than many large Miami resorts. Bungalows and penthouses add space for special trips. The Collins Avenue address also joins a beach holiday with the culture and social life of Miami Beach.

The restored Art Deco tower, two pools, restaurants, wellness spaces, and varied rooms create a full resort stay. Delano suits couples, families, and groups. It remains one of the most unique luxury hotels in Miami Beach for design, food, nightlife, and the Atlantic coast.
