Since its unveiling in 2006, the Hotel Marques de Riscal has become a highly sought-after contemporary luxury retreat. Design, art, gastronomy, wine, and the lush landscape create a memorable trip to The City of Wine.
The hotel's luxurious interior bears the unmistakable stamp of Gehry's design. Tilted walls, zigzag windows, cathedral-height ceilings, and a host of bespoke details create the impression of accommodation as a work of art in its 43 rooms & suites.
Design, art, gastronomy, wine, and the lush landscape create a memorable trip!
The vision of Frank O. Gehry was to create a 21st-century château, an icon for one of the oldest wineries in the Rioja region, Vinos de Los Herederos de Marqués de Riscal, that connects the historic legacy with the modern art and wine nature.
The building composition of rectilinear prisms that float above the ground by three super columns supports the building. The building rises nine meters above the ground and crosses the underground wine store of Marqués de Riscal to defend itself with the three super columns. As a background, this allows spectacular views on all levels to see the vineyards, Elciego, and the Sierra de Cantabria mountains.
Everything is wrapped in cascades of titanium (Canopies) colored in pink, gold, and silver, symbolizing red wine's reddish hues, the mesh of the wine bottle of Marqués de Riscal, and the capsule of the bottle.
Staying at the Hotel Marques de Riscal is an experience unlike any other, where Frank O. Gehry's avant-garde, neoclassical style permeates throughout, providing splendor, joy, and surprise around every corner.
Every detail is designed to delight and inspire, from bedside cloud lamps made of white fabric balloons to the spacious green and black Italian marble baths to blackout drapes that shield late risers from the bright morning sun. In honor of the region's extraordinary wine-making tradition, all guests enjoy a complimentary bottle of wine upon arrival.
Discover all the requisite state-of-the-art technology, including large-screen high-definition televisions, High-Speed Wi-Fi access, and voicemail. Suites come additionally furnished with Nespresso coffee machines and Porsche-designed electric kettles.
The youngest guests' comfort is ensured with unique bath products, bottle warmers, and edge and socket guards. The guests also enjoy complimentary access to the Vinothérapie SPA Caudalie Marqués de Riscal's common areas: indoor swimming pool, relaxation area, steam room, fitness center, Jacuzzi, and the traditional foot bath, the Pediluvium.
