In the warmer months, the Rooftop. I enjoy nothing more on a sunny afternoon than spending a few moments up there to soak up the views across the harbor. It truly is one of Sydney's best-kept secrets. Well, maybe not anymore! Seeing the fleets of yachts and the epic cruise ships arrive and depart is something that never gets old. I also really enjoy a quiet moment in the Courtyard, located in the center of the property and part of Club InterContinental. It has a real European feel and is a great spot for the Club guests to enjoy the twilight drinks and canapes service, including all Club InterContinental guests.
As she left the day at the door, it felt that in the warm stillness, the room itself was holding her close, whispering "welcome home"...' Welcome to your second home, the InterContinental Sydney Double Bay. At the same time, many of the rooms have some subtle and some not so subtle! - differences, they also have a lot in common. With everything you desire from a five-star property - refined linen, luxurious amenities, elegant furnishings, there is so much more that sets us apart from any other city hotel. From the views that seem to murmur 'relax,' to technology, that means you can control your environment and comfort with a simple touch. ''Stillery Bar & Dining'' - Teaming high elegance with a relaxed charm, the premium dining space beckons you in with a promise to deliver incredible food and service to match. There is no better place to enjoy village views over breakfast or catch up with old friends for lunch during the day. In the evening, space transforms into a cozy hub to discover a menu like no other. Locally sourced native produce works with seasonal freshness to create an inspired selection designed to appeal to all palates and tastes. And with a cocktail bar, even Jay Gatsby would raise a glass too. You'll tell friends for years about your time at Stillery.
''The Rooftop Bar'' - Believing there is something extraordinary about enjoying a glass of bubbles while gazing at a view that people should write songs about. Welcome to Rooftop Bar- the one-of-a-kind bar and lounge. With a view, this outdoor room is the perfect place to share some small plates with great mates during the day and at night impress any guest with the handpicked wine list or signature cocktails. The champagne partner Moët Hennessy Australia is always on hand to help you celebrate a special moment - or have a glass simply because you're here, and life is pretty great.
''High Tea'' - Whether you're new to the experience, or a true connoisseur, High Tea at InterContinental Sydney Double Bay is an unforgettable event. An idea dating back to the 1700s, high tea was traditionally an afternoon meal between lunch and dinner. Named 'high' tea, it was taken either standing up or sitting on stools. While the timing has remained, the occasion of High Tea has evolved to something more refined – and promising, these days. Everyone gets a seat. High Tea is a culinary love affair of both taste and sight. The petite dishes are as visually stunning as they are delicious, each one created to surprise and delight you. Layered upon the finest and prettiest china, scones and sandwiches, quiches and petit fours, cakes, and cookies all come together to tempt even the strictest of diets. From the sweetest of treats to something more savory, the food really does look almost too good to eat - but only almost! Like nowhere else, InterContinental Sydney Double Bay offers a High Tea experience that can be tailor-made for you and your guests and is happy to cater to all dietary needs and tastes. Equally, wanting High Tea to be as much a time of celebration as you deserve. So, if tea doesn't quite fit the occasion, perhaps you'd prefer a glass of champagne? With so many options available, ensuring every guest will enjoy this delightful indulgence.
A fully-equipped fitness area with dedicated cardiovascular equipment, resistance equipment, and free weights is at your disposal in the gym, located on the hotel's ground level promenade. The state-of-the-art Technogym equipment provides guests with a totally immersive workout experience whilst you are away from your normal routine. The gym facilities are complimentary for guests staying at the hotel, but memberships are available for the public members.
Talk about a show stopper. The Rooftop pool truly defines the InterContinental Sydney Double Bay as the only destination hotel in Sydney. The unique view of the harbor, with its shining waters and lazy yachts playfully tricks you into believing that you could be anywhere in the world. Including all the practicalities you need to relax for the day – fluffy towels, sunscreen, ice-cold mineral water…tick, tick, tick! - the staff are on hand for any added extras you may need from the bar and lounge. So, stretch out in a cabana, enjoy the view and take a swim. It's always a great day at Rooftop.
What should every visitor do at least once while in Sydney - Much of the city and its iconic attractions are outdoors. The best way to see much of it is on the ferry from Double Bay to Circular Quay. Departing from Double Bay Wharf, just a two-minute stroll from the property, the ferry travels around Darling Point, where the North Sydney skyline and historical residents, including Kirribilli House (Australian Prime Minister's Sydney residence), are revealed. As you glide past Potts Point, the spectacular Sydney Harbour Bridge comes into view, followed by the city skyline's truly glorious sight. Finally, as the ferry turns into Circular Quay, you sail past the iconic Sydney Opera House. A little tip – the ferry is actually the best spot to capture uninterrupted photos of both the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House.
