The guestrooms measure 550 square feet, with another 116 square feet in the lanai categories. Golf Mountain View rooms face the neighboring course and Ko'olau Mountains; Dolphin Lanai rooms overlook the lagoon. Ocean View and Ocean Front are separate categories, each available with or without a lanai. Beach Front Lanai rooms sit close to the shoreline.

Ocean Front Suites include a separate living room and bedroom, a balcony and one and a half bathrooms. The Ocean Front Penthouse I has a king bed, while Penthouse II has two double beds; both measure 1,100 square feet. Two-bedroom suite arrangements should be discussed directly with reservations, particularly when traveling with children or sharing with another adult couple.

Among the signature categories, the Presidential Penthouse has two bedrooms plus living and dining rooms. At beach level, the Kahala Beach Suite has a wraparound lanai, while the corner Kahala Kai Suite has three lanais. Confirm the bedroom configuration when choosing a signature suite.

Rooms have a king bed or two doubles. Standard occupancy permits up to three adults or two adults and two children aged 17 or younger. Connecting rooms require advance confirmation, so families needing an internal door should establish that arrangement before arrival.

Plumeria Beach House is the all-day open-air restaurant, with indoor and terrace seating near the beach. Breakfast, lunch and dinner have separate services, and dinner runs on selected nights. The seafood dinner buffet is also scheduled rather than available every evening. Its position beside the sand makes it a practical place to begin the day over breakfast or return for a meal without leaving the grounds. Check the dining calendar when planning several evenings on property.

Seaside Grill sits by the pool and beach, serving casual food and drinks for guests moving between the water and the resort grounds. Seafood, grilled dishes and salads feature alongside the poolside bar. Lunch operates daily on a walk-in basis, making this the less scheduled meal during a day outdoors.

Arancino at The Kahala serves Italian cooking, with house-made pasta and brick-oven pizzas among its specialties. The kitchen combines ingredients imported from Italy with local produce and seafood, and makes its own desserts. Reservations are advisable.

Alan Wong's serves Hawaii Regional Cuisine, drawing on the islands' cultural influences, farm ingredients and fish. Dinner is a more dressed occasion: evening resort wear, Aloha clothing and appropriate shoes or dress sandals fit the restaurant's dress code. Dinner runs on selected evenings, while the signature Sunday brunch requires reservations. Confirm the service when reserving a table.

The Veranda brings afternoon tea, drinks and live music to the lounge. Tea pairs sweet and savory bites beneath the chandelier or on the oceanfront lanai, with reservations required. Tea and evening performances follow separate schedules rather than running every day; check the calendar for your stay before planning an afternoon or evening here. Casual resort wear suits the lounge.

The resort fronts an 800-foot sandy beach. Both the beach and the grassy area in front are public, despite the residential surroundings. A temperature-controlled swimming pool and hot tub are reserved for registered hotel guests, and beach loungers are available on a first-come basis. On weekdays, pool time from 6 to 8 a.m. is reserved for adults aged eighteen and over. Kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and snorkeling equipment can be rented. Ocean conditions vary, so check conditions locally before swimming or taking equipment out. The pool is a separate option when the day's sea conditions do not suit your plans.

Dolphin Quest operates at the lagoon as a separate company from the hotel. Its current Oahu programs range from dockside visits to shallow-water encounters and swimming formats. Mini Dolphin Moments is for children aged four and younger with a participating adult, while Kids' Aquatic Adventure is aimed at ages five to nine. Check the age and adult-participation requirements for the specific program before reserving. A room overlooking the lagoon does not itself arrange participation.

The Kahala Spa has eight treatment rooms, each with its own relaxation area, glass-enclosed shower, deep soaking tub, changing space and wardrobe. Massage, facial and nail services are available, while couples' experiences can be arranged with advance notice. Signature treatments begin with a foot ritual using aromatic water and Hawaiian sea salts. Discuss the treatment and room arrangements when booking, particularly for a shared appointment.

CHI Fitness has separate cardio and weight rooms with ocean views. Its facilities include dry and steam saunas and an outdoor hot tub. The class calendar includes yoga and strength work, and personal training is available. These facilities sit within the fitness operation rather than each spa treatment room.

The resort's KISCA cultural calendar includes lei making, lauhala weaving, bamboo stamping and Hawaiian-language sessions. The Veranda hosts these activities on scheduled days, including storytelling. Some sessions require reservations. Consult the current calendar before setting aside a morning.

For events, the Maile Ballroom can divide into three sections, and its foyer overlooks the lagoon. The Koko Head Ocean Lawn provides an outdoor setting, while the Kainoa II Boardroom accommodates a meeting around one table.

Airport taxis and concierge-arranged chauffeured transfers provide arrival options; confirm the meeting arrangements for your flight. Hertz has a rental desk at the resort, with self-parking and valet parking available for drivers. A car can be arranged for part of a stay rather than the whole visit.

The hotel shuttle serves Kahala Mall, Ala Moana and several Waikiki shopping stops, including the Royal Hawaiian Center and International Market Place. It is for hotel guests, requires reservations and does not carry luggage. This is a shopping and city shuttle, not an airport transfer. Check both outward and return departures with the Bell Desk, since seating is limited and the schedule can change.
