The Princess is on East Princess Drive, in the Sonoran Desert setting of North Scottsdale. It is not an Old Town hotel for walking between galleries and dinner. That part of Scottsdale is a separate outing, while the resort's grounds, pools and neighboring golf courses are the immediate surroundings. Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarter add shopping and restaurants within driving reach, and the concierge can help plan excursions farther afield.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is the principal gateway for arriving guests. Private cars, group transfers and rental cars can be arranged through the resort. A rental makes sense if several days will involve exploring beyond North Scottsdale; a transfer may be all you need for a visit centered on the property. Leave flexibility for traffic rather than scheduling an appointment immediately after your expected arrival.

Fairmont View rooms have 525 square feet and balconies looking toward the TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course. They come with one king or two queen beds, a small refrigerator and coffee facilities. Deluxe View rooms have the same listed area but face Princess Pool or Sunset Beach. Choosing between them is therefore more about the outlook and position than an increase in bedroom space.

Signature rooms are in the Sunset Wing and measure 530 square feet. An oversized shower and double vanities are among their distinguishing features, along with Southwestern artwork and a sliding door between the bedroom and bathroom. A specific view is not guaranteed in this category. For families sharing one room, the bed setup and bathroom layout can be just as useful to compare as the view.

The Cholla Suite provides 850 square feet, with a bedroom separate from the parlor, a sofa bed and a patio or balcony. The Sunset Beach One-Bedroom Suite has 1,077 square feet and a king bedroom, with the option of adding a connecting room. These layouts suit a longer stay when someone may want to rest while others read, work or spend time in the living area.

Larger suites are also designed for hosting. The ground-floor Princess One-Bedroom Suite is listed at 1,150 square feet, with a Murphy bed in the parlor and a dining table for six. Grand Sonoran Suites occupy the Main Building's third or fourth floor and offer a choice of adjoining bedrooms around a large parlor. Discuss the exact bedrooms included in your reservation rather than treating the published suite area as a complete description of the layout.

Fairmont Gold has its own lounge, concierge team and meeting facilities. Its Junior Suites measure 600 square feet, with a balcony and a soaking bathtub; the Golf View version faces the Stadium Course's fourth hole. The Gold One-Bedroom Suite increases to 1,275 square feet, with a living room, queen sofa bed, additional bathroom and a dining table for eight. It gives a family or two people sharing more ways to use their time indoors.

Privado sits within a separate residential-style enclave. Its studios have 700 square feet and a gas fireplace, while the 850-square-foot suites separate the bedroom from the sitting area and include a patio or balcony. A dedicated concierge team supports the stay. Privado guests also have their own relaxation pool, looking toward the course and McDowell Mountains. This is shared within the Privado collection, not a private pool attached to every villa.

Sonoran Splash is the family pool for slides, with two twisting runs each 200 feet long and a zero-entry area for younger children. Riders must be at least 42 inches tall. Sunset Beach creates another kind of pool day with 9,000 square feet of white sand, while Princess Pool overlooks the lagoons and golf course. The beach is a feature of the resort pool area, not a natural desert lake.

Adults have quieter alternatives. Sonoran Landing is reserved for guests aged 18 and over and includes two 25-meter lap lanes. The rooftop pool belongs to Well & Being Spa and is for spa guests, while the Privado pool is reserved for that accommodation collection. These access distinctions matter: six pools does not mean that every guest can use every one on the same terms.

Well & Being Spa is an adults-only space for guests aged 18 and over. Beyond massage and facial treatments, its facilities include hot and cold plunges, a waterfall grotto, a eucalyptus aromatherapy room, a Swiss shower, steam room and dry sauna. There is enough here to give a spa visit more time than the treatment itself, particularly if the rooftop pool is part of your plan.

Fitness facilities and classes add a more active side, while the salon provides manicures and pedicures. Confirm access and any class arrangements when making the appointment, since these depend on the service or accommodation selected. For a group with different interests, the spa allows some guests to spend a day apart from the family pools without leaving the resort.

TPC Scottsdale's Stadium and Champions courses are next to the Princess. Both have 18 holes, and the Stadium Course is associated with the WM Phoenix Open and its well-known 16th hole. The resort's golf concierge can arrange lessons, equipment rental and storage, and transport for tee times. A course view from your room is separate from arranging a round; make the golf reservation part of planning the trip.

Camp Trailblazers offers supervised activities for children aged six to 12, including crafts, sports and games. The arcade is a separate option for different ages, with an accompanying adult required for children under 13. A pickleball court adds another activity to share. These facilities make it easier to spend several days on the grounds, with something beyond swimming when children want a change.

Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina is the resort's steakhouse, while La Hacienda focuses on Mexican cooking, with a tequila bar and outdoor seating. Ironwood American Kitchen highlights produce and ingredients from Arizona farmers and ranchers. For another setting, Toro Scottsdale at TPC draws on South American flavors. The range lets dinner feel like a distinct part of the day without relying on a drive into Old Town each evening.

The Plaza Bar provides cocktails and wines by the glass, and room service gives you the option of staying on your own patio or balcony. The same resort also accommodates weddings and conferences, with ballrooms and outdoor gathering spaces. For guests attending an event, choosing accommodation around both the venue and the pools they intend to use can make moving through this large property considerably easier.
