The Woodward Geneva is a boutique hotel located in Geneva, Switzerland. The hotel offers a unique blend of luxury and comfort, focusing on guest satisfaction. The rooms are spacious and lovely. Plus, it has all the amenities you need for a relaxing stay.
The hotel's staff is also attentive and professional. They are always available to help you with anything you need. Woodward is the perfect place to stay at a luxurious, comfortable hotel.
The Woodward, a hotel on the shores of Lake Geneva, offers views of Mont Blanc. French architect François Durel originally built the hotel on Quai Wilson. It is a post-Haussmann design. Pierre-Yves Rochon, a world-renowned architect, has completely transformed the hotel. He reimagined it to make Geneva's first all-suite resort.
The hotel is Geneva's lakeside oasis for haute living. It boasts Le Jardinie, Michelin-starred L'Atelier Robuchon, and the Guerlain Spa by Alain Verzeroli.
The Woodward Auberge Collection sits on the other side of the lake, facing Mont Blanc. It is minutes from the most popular shopping streets. Plus, it is within easy walking distance of the old town of Geneva. You can also walk to the railway station in 10 minutes. Additionally, take a 15-minute taxi to the airport.
The exterior of the post-Haussman-style home is timeless. It's also elegant and classic inside and out. It's now home to beautiful, art-filled interiors. Pierre-Yves Rochon and Bea SA architects aimed for a private residence atmosphere. Some walls have silk wallpaper featuring hand-made florals. Parquetry dominates the lobby, with glossy Macassar ebony and straw marquetry on the bedroom cupboards. Moreover, much of the gold is muted, glistening under the chandeliers to create a sense of warmth.
The Woodward, now the Quai Wilson, was built as the Hotel Bellevue on the Quai du Léman in 1901. Six Belle Époque stories are exemplary. Each corner has a meringue-like dome and a mansard roof. It was first a hotel that later turned into a private residence. It then became offices and finally a bank. Now, a hotel.
This Suite hotel is part of the Auberge Collection. World-renowned architect Pierre Yves Rochon created the repurposed interiors. Guests are immediately confronted with the property's beauty as they walk down the street. It is a mix of crystal, marble, and murals.
The name of The Woodward is a play on Woodrow Wilson's role in establishing the League of Nations after the First World War. It was reportedly almost called The Woodrow.
21 of the 26 suites have views over the lake. Some suites, like the one on the sixth floor, have balconies with tables. The remaining suites have lake views and street views from their bedrooms. Additionally, their decor is muted. They have also touched items such as the Atelier Ann Miavaine lacquered doors, the Nespresso machine, and the minibar.
The suites are also significant, with ample wardrobe space. The accommodations also have a separate sitting area. This area offers an extra TV and a great workspace. Marble bathrooms come with large tubs and showers. You can also choose from Bamford or Guerlain amenities.
There is some variation in the layout and character of each suite. But you want to be on the lowest floor, in the front row, center. This floor offers beautiful lake views and high ceilings with many lateral extensions. A top-floor corner suite is also available if you want something more unconventional.
Chef Olivier Jean loves Robuchon. He is leading the first L'Atelier Joel Robuchon in Switzerland. He is also in charge of Le Jardinier and Bar 37 in Europe. Both received Michelin Stars in New York. The former is a showpiece, with its theater-like open kitchen and black-and-white decor. It also features signature dishes like Sologne caviar, crab, and shellfish jelly.
Le Jardinier is a ground-floor restaurant with views of the lake. It places the vegetable at the center of the table with a focus on local suppliers. For authentic regional flavors, try the Alcala Pata Blanca Ham and Miso.
The 1,200-square-meter Spa at The Woodward is part of the hotel's wellness area. It includes the Guerlain Spa. It also features a 21-meter indoor pool, the longest in Geneva. Additionally, two saunas, a gym, and steam rooms are available. There is also a hot tub. Six wellness suites offer exclusive Guerlain treatments, including one for couples.
Guerlain's massage technique is famous for its French luxury. It blends traditional gestures with new techniques. The Guerlain Spa has six treatment rooms, including one double room. This location is also home to a wide range of wellness treatments.
You can connect two, three, or more suites along one common corridor. Guests can also privatize whole floors if necessary. The presents include puzzles, coloring books, and more. Young guests may also get slippers and bathrobes the same size as their parents. Moreover, Le Jardinier offers a special children's menu. This is a great way to get them to eat their greens. You can also organize many child-friendly activities and even babysitters.
All floors and public areas (except some) are accessible to wheelchair users. In addition, one accessible suite and one fully accessible treatment room are available in the Spa.
