Ski days begin with the hotel's ski shop, where equipment can be hired before heading out. There is a ski room and storage, and the ski shuttle takes guests to the St. Moritz ski areas. This is a hotel with transport to the slopes, not ski-in, ski-out access. A separate local transport service runs around the clock within St. Moritz.

The outdoor butler can also lead guests beyond the ski runs. One outing follows a torchlit route to Lej Nair, the Black Lake, through a valley framed by mountains. The walk takes about two hours, with the torches lighting the path as darkness falls. It gives a winter evening a different pace from a day on the pistes, with time spent walking through the landscape. A private guided tour visits the Segantini Museum and Giovanni Segantini's former studio in Maloja. The outing takes about three hours and is arranged on request.

Carlo Rampazzi's design brings together traditional furnishings and modern touches, with colors ranging from pale pink to bright red. Individual rooms use different palettes, so the interiors have variety even though the lake remains a shared feature. Some spaces are softly colored; others use richer tones and more ornate details. The south-facing outlook takes in the water and surrounding Engadine mountains.

The Deluxe Room measures 35 to 45 square meters, combining the bedroom and living area in one space. It has a king bed and a bathroom with double vanity and rain shower.

At 65 square meters, the Deluxe Junior Suite has a combined sleeping and living area with a king bed and sofa bed. Bespoke furnishings, leather headboards, Venetian stucco ceilings and Murano glass lamps add detail to the interior. The bathroom contains both a bathtub and a separate rain shower, with two sinks. A balcony is subject to availability in this category, while the south-facing lake and mountain view is standard.

The Grand Suite places 80 square meters on the upper floors, with a separate living area. Depending on the individual suite, the layout also includes a walk-in wardrobe or a guest bathroom. Its windows share the south-facing panorama over Lake St. Moritz.

The Carlton Two Bedroom Suite combines a Carlton Suite and a Deluxe Junior Suite across 160 square meters. Each bedroom has a king bed and its own bathroom. Between them are a living and dining area, a guest toilet and a balcony. A Murphy bed and sofa bed are also part of the layout. The dining table and separate lounge provide space for meals and evenings together within the suite.

The Carlton Penthouse occupies the entire top floor. Its 386 square meters include a 95-square-meter living area with an open fireplace, dining space and a TV lounge. A fully equipped kitchen sits alongside these rooms, and a private lift provides direct access. Five balconies open views around the hotel, taking in the lake, village and mountains.

There are three king bedrooms in the penthouse, each with an en-suite marble bathroom. All three bathrooms have a rain shower, separate bathtub and double vanity. A walk-in dressing room adds storage beside the sleeping quarters.

Da Vittorio St. Moritz holds two Michelin stars. Executive chef Paolo Rota leads this Cerea family restaurant, where Italian cooking meets ingredients from the Engadine. The redesigned dining room uses blues and reds, soft textures and carefully placed light. Paccheri with a three-tomato sauce remains a signature, alongside dishes such as turbot cooked in mountain hay. The menu follows the seasons, with mountain produce joining the restaurant's long-standing interest in fish and seafood.

Da Vittorio serves dinner during the winter season, with smart-casual dress. Reserve the restaurant separately from your accommodation and check its service days when planning a short visit. An evening here is worth allowing time for, instead of fitting it between late skiing and another commitment.

The Grand Restaurant is the hotel's other main dining room, serving breakfast and dinner under chef Salvatore Frequente. His cooking draws on the Engadine landscape, with ingredients such as sea buckthorn, juniper berries, wild herbs and mushrooms. Plant-based dishes form part of the approach, alongside the wider seasonal menu.

Rampazzi's design for the Grand Restaurant takes a softer direction. Large windows, linen curtains and earthy tones frame the dining room, letting the landscape remain in view. The cooking and the interiors share that regional focus, from the ingredients on the plate to the natural colors around the table.

The Carlton Bar and Bel Etage serve afternoon tea, snacks and drinks, with views toward the snowy mountains. On clear days, the Sun Terrace offers lunch overlooking the lake. For a Swiss winter meal, the fondue gondolas stand in front of the hotel. Each seats two to four people for cheese fondue.

The 1,200-square-meter Carlton Spa has two pool areas: a connected indoor-outdoor pool at 35°C and a sports pool at 31°C. Treatment rooms, relaxation spaces, a gym and yoga complete the three-floor setting. A separate Private Spa Suite has a whirlpool, steam bath and sauna for up to four guests.

Children under twelve need an adult at the pools. They may swim outside the designated splash sessions, with calm play requested. The sauna and steam area is textile-free and reserved for guests aged sixteen and over.

The Kids Club welcomes children aged three and over, with multilingual staff, table football and a PlayStation. Its published schedule runs Tuesday to Saturday.

The hotel stands on Via Johannes Badrutt. Guests arriving by train can arrange a pickup at St. Moritz station. Samedan airport is approximately seven kilometers away, while Zurich and Milan provide international flight connections. Road transfers from either city depend on the route and winter conditions; the hotel can coordinate onward transport before arrival.
