Metropolis Hotel & Club is a 19-room luxury boutique hotel in central Madrid, inside the landmark Metropolis Building at Calle de Alcala 39. The address stands where Calle de Alcala meets Gran Via, close to Madrid's main museums, Retiro Park and the city centre. Opened in 2026 after a five-year restoration, the eight-floor Club Metropolis combines the small hotel with seven dining spaces, a private members' club, wellness services and a rooftop beneath the famous dome.
The Metropolis Building marks one of Madrid's best-known street corners. Its dome and Winged Victory have formed part of the city view since the early 20th century. Today, Grupo Paraguas has turned more than 6,000 square metres into a club, hotel and dining address. Some floors are open to the public. Others are reserved for members and hotel guests. The location works well for culture, shopping and food. The Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza and Reina Sofia museums form the nearby Art Triangle. Circulo de Bellas Artes is only a short walk away. The hotel has just 19 rooms and suites on the third and fourth floors. This small count helps it feel like a private Madrid home rather than a large city hotel. The Circular Suite Victoria can connect to a Superior Room. This creates the Grand Suite 360, with about 117 square metres and two bedrooms. The Cibeles suite adds a bath as well as a rain shower. These options suit guests who value the architecture itself and want a room that cannot be copied in a standard tower.
The Metropolis Suite offers about 67 square metres with a separate bedroom and living room. A sofa bed and a link to another room add choice for families. The Grand Suite Alcala joins this suite to a Superior Room and expands to about 117 square metres. The Grand Suite Gran Via also measures about 117 square metres. It combines a Corner Suite with a Superior Room. City views, a bar area and clear living zones make the larger suites useful for long stays or private time with guests. Food is a major part of Club Metropolis. Seven venues fill the building, and three welcome outside guests. Tasca Fina gives the Spanish tavern a modern form with local produce, rice dishes, croquettes and food from the grill. Barra de Oricios focuses on seafood, raw dishes and drinks around a round counter. Spa de Langostas sits on the lower floor and places lobster at the centre of a late-night restaurant and club. These three venues are open to the public. Hotel guests also gain access to the private dining and social floors, subject to each venue's hours and rules.
Victoria serves precise seasonal cooking with a strong focus on the main product. La Galeria is a more relaxed all-day room and also serves hotel breakfast. Snacks, informal plates and a full menu make it useful throughout the day. Breakfast may also be taken in the privacy of a room. El Jardin brings live-fire cooking to the rooftop beneath the dome. La Cupula treats cocktails as a craft and uses the skyline as part of the bar. These spaces are reserved for club members and hotel guests. The hotel's small scale allows detailed service. The team can arrange restaurant tables, art visits, cars, railway transfers and private tours. The quiet wellness floor offers a useful break from Gran Via, but the main identity of the property remains its rooms, dining and private club.
