Architect Adolf Florensa designed the building for politician and arts patron Francesc Cambó. Completed in 1926, it reflected a different idea of urban living: the elevator allowed Cambó to place his family home at the top, instead of on the lower floors traditionally favored by wealthy households. The hotel has 147 rooms and suites, but its identity remains closely tied to that upper-floor residence and the Catalan Noucentisme movement that shaped the building.

Casa Cambó preserves French palace wood paneling and a ballroom on the eighth floor. Its neoclassical garden extends over two levels, with fountains, sculpture, and Mediterranean planting. The historic library is another substantial interior, with bookshelves rising to a gallery around a double-height room. These spaces reflect the building's life as a private home; the library also serves as an event venue.

London studio Sagrada's interiors draw on the clean lines of Catalan Noucentisme. Wood floors, stone, and polished concrete sit alongside handmade wool-and-silk rugs, with muted blues and blush pinks softening the palette. Ceiling rosettes echo the decorative language of the garden above. Paintings by local artists appear in the rooms, and bathroom products come from Barcelona perfumer Carner. Most rooms face the street, bringing the surrounding city into the outlook.

Classic rooms begin at about 20 square meters, with a queen bed, a sitting area, and a bathroom containing either a bathtub or shower. The 38-square-meter Junior Suite adds a more generous lounge area with a chaise longue, as well as a walk-in closet. Its king bed, large bathtub, and separate shower make this a different proposition from the compact Classic layout. Large windows look over Via Laietana, and the accommodation can suit two adults with one child.

For separate living and sleeping areas, the 56-square-meter Master Suite has a sofa bed and a dining table for four. The Grand Suite starts at 60 square meters and looks toward the Gothic Quarter, with a bedroom, living room, and work area. Connecting it to a double room creates the Two Bedroom Grand Suite, extending the accommodation to 90 square meters. The additional bedroom changes the layout significantly for families or friends sharing a longer stay.

The Family Room is a two-room arrangement totaling 45 square meters, rather than a single room with extra beds. One side has a queen bed and a rain shower; the other has a king or twin beds and a bathroom with a bathtub. It accommodates up to four guests. On the eighth floor, La Terraza del Central brings the pool, restaurant, and bar together above the old town. The infinity pool and sunbeds are reserved for staying guests, with sunbeds allocated in timed reservations. Views extend across El Born's rooftops toward the Mediterranean, with landmarks including the Sagrada Família and Glòries Tower visible in the wider panorama. Mediterranean plants and Balinese beds give the terrace its outdoor character.

The restaurant serves Mediterranean food, moving between Spanish sharing plates and influences from Greece, Italy, and the eastern Mediterranean. Cocktails and poolside bites are part of the setting. As evening arrives, a gong marks the sunset, and lighting picks out a 1920s sgraffito mural by Oleguer Junyent that can be seen from the terrace. Local DJ sets bring a social rhythm to the rooftop; restaurant and bar visitors are distinct from the pool's guest-only use.

At street level, Can Bo is a restaurant and bodega built around Spanish tapas and plates for sharing, with subtle Italian influences. Seasonal ingredients guide the cooking, while the wine list spans more than 100 labels and places particular emphasis on local and Italian wines. There is also a broad choice by the glass. Large windows admit natural light into Sagrada's Mediterranean-style dining room, keeping the restaurant connected to Via Laietana outside.

The name itself belongs to the building's story. Spoken aloud, Can Bo echoes Cambó; in Catalan, "Can" refers to a home and "Bo" means good. Wine is central to the restaurant's character, alongside cocktails and shared dishes. It is a place for lunch or dinner at city level, with a more enclosed dining-room setting than La Terraza above. Room service is available around the clock for meals in the accommodation.

Breakfast combines a buffet with dishes prepared to order. Local cheeses, fruit, and freshly baked pastries sit alongside choices such as omelets and Eggs Benedict. Gluten-free, lactose-free, vegetarian, and vegan options are available, with dietary requirements best shared before arrival. Breakfast arrangements depend on the reservation.

The hotel's urban spa has a thermal area with a dry sauna and hammam, alongside massages and facial and body treatments using Natura Bissé and Alqvimia products. Treatments are arranged with the spa team, and appointments outside its usual hours require advance reservation.

A panoramic sauna on La Terraza del Central faces the skyline and is reserved for hotel guests, with a cold shower for cooling down between sessions. The fitness room also occupies the eighth floor, with natural light and city views. Via Laietana runs between two distinct parts of the old city. The Gothic Quarter has the cathedral and streets around the old Roman walls, while El Born leads toward the Picasso Museum and Santa Maria del Mar. Shops and restaurants fill the smaller streets on either side. Farther out, Ciutadella Park and the waterfront extend the walking possibilities beyond the immediate neighborhood. The hotel is an old-town address, not a beachfront property.

Jaume I station on Metro Line 4 is a short walk away. For arrival by air, Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport is roughly 30 to 40 minutes from the hotel by road, depending on traffic. The nearby Saba Catedral garage provides a parking option separate from the hotel building.
