AlpenGold Hotel sits at the edge of the forest, elevated above Lake Davos. Its Baslerstrasse address belongs to the Davos Dorf side of town. Use the hotel as the base for lake, town and side-valley outings, rather than expecting an address directly on the central Promenade.
The Davosersee shore route alternates between gravel paths beside shady woodland and more open ground. Wild plants line the banks, and the north shore offers a view across the water towards the valley and mountains. This is a waterside landscape outing, distinct from heading up to a high mountain viewpoint.
Sertig's houses and stables sit within a glacial side valley shaped by steps and sills. The white church in Sertig Dörfli dates from 1699. Local farming families built it together, and their house marks remain on interior beams and the gallery balustrade. The small church connects the valley landscape with the community that maintained it.
Farther towards the valley head, the waterfall and the peaks of Mittagshorn, Plattenflue and Hochducan give the outing a mountain backdrop. The hamlet and surrounding pastureland offer a change from the main town's streets.
The Bergbaumuseum Graubünden occupies a former nineteenth-century mining administration building at Schmelzboden. Ores, minerals, documents, images, equipment and models explain the region's extractive industry. It is a cultural outing for travellers interested in technology and working life, with a different subject from Davos's art and literary associations.
The Switzerland destination guide places Davos within a wider Alpine journey.
Parsenn's Davos starting point is in Davos Dorf. If that mountain area is central to your stay, consider the actual journey from your accommodation rather than using the general Davos name as a measure of convenience.
Its town-side relationship is with Davos Platz, distinct from the Dorf starting point for Parsenn. Choose the mountain and daily route that fit your plans, rather than treating all resort access as one location.
The Kirchner Museum gives Ernst Ludwig Kirchner's art and his relationship with Davos a focused setting. It is a meaningful choice for an art-interested traveller, rather than only a fallback when an outdoor plan changes.
The mountain setting has a strong literary association with Thomas Mann's The Magic Mountain. A visit can connect landscape and cultural history, offering another perspective on Davos beyond its sporting identity.
The Dischma valley offers a different scale from the main town. Choose a suitable route for the season and conditions; a valley outing is a deliberate change of landscape, not evidence that every path is flat or separate from traffic.
