Janu Tokyo stands at 1-2-2 Azabudai in Minato. Azabudai Hills brings residences, workplaces, retail, food and cultural spaces into a landscape of courtyards, planted roofs and pedestrian routes. The greenery gives the surrounding streets a gentler pace. A short walk can lead from a hotel meal to the neighborhood's galleries or the Mori Building Digital Art Museum, with Tokyo Tower visible from selected parts of the district.

This setting suits guests who want to spend time in the neighborhood as well as use the hotel for wider Tokyo plans. Roppongi and Toranomon are nearby, and the Minato address keeps central meetings, dining and art within practical reach. The wider district adds plenty to do just outside the hotel. On a longer visit, a morning can begin in the wellness center, continue through Azabudai Hills and still leave the evening open for dinner elsewhere in the city.

Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston designed Janu Tokyo's 122 rooms and suites. The accommodation collection begins with the 55-square-meter Deluxe Room, whose private balcony and choice of king or twin beds make it a substantial city room rather than a compact entry category. City Rooms extend to 62 square meters, also with balconies and a choice of bedding. The 65-square-meter Premier Room adds an integrated seating area and a large bathroom. These distinctions are worth considering before moving straight to a suite: the rooms already allow space to sit, work and look out over the city.

Balconies and outlooks still depend on the precise category. A Deluxe Room's balcony faces the skyline; the Corner Suite frames Tokyo Tower through floor-to-ceiling windows and from its private balcony. The 105-square-meter Corner Suite also has a separate living room and guest WC, making it more useful when one person wants to rest while another works or receives a visitor. The City View Suite and Premier Suite also occupy the 105-square-meter tier, but their arrangements and views are not interchangeable. Select the layout and view you value, rather than assuming every room looks toward Tokyo Tower.

At the top of the range, the Janu Suite has 284 square meters of residential-style space, with two balconies, a separate living and dining room, a kitchen, a library and a study. Its size can reach 519 square meters only when linked with adjoining rooms in an available multi-bedroom arrangement; 519 square meters is not the standalone suite area. The hotel also lists specific connecting configurations among other categories, including a Deluxe Room with a Junior Suite and a Premier Room with another Premier Room. For families or friends, those named combinations are more useful than a general promise of connecting rooms.

Dining is a substantial part of Janu Tokyo's identity. Janu Mercato brings Italian market cooking into a lively setting, with pasta and seasonal ingredients at the center. Janu Grill works with flame in an open kitchen, focusing on meat and seafood. Sumi is much smaller: its 13 seats face a live charcoal grill for a sumibiyaki omakase meal. The different scales give a guest a genuine choice between an animated restaurant and a more concentrated dinner, without leaving the hotel.

Hu Jing is the Cantonese address, known for roasted duck and dim sum. Iigura takes a different Japanese direction through Edomae-style sushi, sashimi and small plates, with table and counter experiences. A traveler with several nights can move among Italian, Cantonese, sushi and charcoal cooking while still leaving plenty of reason to explore Tokyo's wider restaurant scene.

The social spaces complete the eight: Janu Lounge & Garden Terrace pairs tea and pastries with views toward Tokyo Tower; Janu Patisserie offers cakes, chocolates and other sweets; and Janu Bar draws the evening toward cocktails. Together, the dining rooms, lounge, patisserie and bar make the hotel feel active at different moments, yet a guest can choose the quieter scale of Sumi or a room balcony when they want a calmer evening.

The 4,000-square-meter Janu Tokyo Wellness Centre is unusually broad in its mix of movement and recovery spaces. Its 25-meter indoor lap pool is distinct from a lounge pool, so a swim need not mean the same thing for every guest. The fitness facilities extend beyond a conventional hotel gym to a personal training studio, movement and spin studios, a martial arts studio and a golf simulator. This is a meaningful part of the hotel's character for someone who wants to maintain a training routine while in Tokyo.

Recovery has its own range. Seven treatment rooms sit alongside two private Spa Houses, where longer journeys can incorporate banya or hammam traditions. Those houses are different from booking a standard massage: they are private spaces built around a more extended sequence of heat, water and treatment. The hotel's wellness program also includes group movement, from aerial yoga to more vigorous sessions.

The Wellness Collective brings a membership element to the facilities, reinforcing Janu's more social interpretation of wellbeing. The physical plan offers breadth: a serious swim, focused training, a gentler movement session or time in a Spa House can each anchor a different kind of morning.

Janu Tokyo works especially well when the hotel itself is part of the itinerary. A guest can spend real time at the pool, eat in markedly different venues and return to a balcony or separate living room, while Azabudai Hills provides art, shopping and outdoor paths just beyond the entrance. The property has the activity of an urban gathering place, balanced by accommodation designed for privacy.

The room decision is the most consequential one. A Deluxe or City Room already gives a couple generous space and a balcony, while a named suite adds separation for longer stays. A Corner Suite puts Tokyo Tower views at the heart of the choice; a connected Janu Suite arrangement serves a much larger party, but must be distinguished from the 284-square-meter suite on its own. With those details settled, the hotel's restaurants, wellness spaces and immediate neighborhood can be used at whatever pace the trip allows.
