Landscape architect Sophie Agata Ambroise divided Il Giardino into a series of small outdoor spaces. Hedges and trees frame the seating, while four slight changes in level follow the ground, three covered in grass. Sixteen potted laurel trees enclose I Vimini in front of the restaurant. Elsewhere, plane trees pruned into umbrella shapes shelter five smaller spaces, with white wisteria climbing their trunks. The planting gives the garden its structure, rather than a single broad terrace lined with tables.

The adjacent Brera Botanical Garden is a separate place to visit within Palazzo di Brera, which also houses the Pinacoteca. The hotel's own grounds bring that green setting into a stay centered on the city. Via Montenapoleone and Via della Spiga are nearby for shopping, while La Scala and the Accademia di Brera place music and art within the same neighborhood. Returning for a drink need not mean leaving the center behind.

Da Niko is the hotel's contemporary Italian restaurant, created with Niko Romito. Executive chef Giorgio Fuda leads the kitchen. The menu moves from crudi and pasta to tableside preparations, dishes for sharing and Italian desserts. The approach favors familiar Italian cooking with close attention to ingredients. ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel designed the interiors to suggest a Milanese home. Warm materials and intimate proportions shape the space around the tables.

The Bvlgari Bar has a more open relationship with the garden. An oval counter in black resin stands before a glass wall, and the aperitivo brings together hotel guests and local visitors over cocktails and savory bites. The restaurant menu is also served here. Alongside the house Bvlgari Cocktail are traditional drinks, seasonal creations, loose-leaf teas and herbal infusions. It is a social part of the hotel, not a residents-only lounge.

The Bvlgari Lounge looks onto the garden through tall lobby windows. A fireplace, books and hand-knotted silk carpets from Uzbekistan furnish this indoor setting. Afternoon tea takes an Italian direction, with miniature Niko Romito pastries and savory snacks. The lounge gives guests an indoor alternative to the planted terraces, with the garden still visible beyond the glass. It suits a pause between shopping and dinner, when a full restaurant meal would interrupt the afternoon. The bar, lounge and restaurant serve different purposes: choose a table for the meal, the counter for an aperitivo or the lounge for tea.

The architecture combines a later building with a restored eighteenth-century section of facade. Inside, Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel's design brings black Zimbabwe stone together with paler stone from Vicenza and Afyon, teak and oak. The contrasts are clear, particularly where dark stone meets light wood. Cream linen wall coverings, Flexform and Maxalto furniture, and framed sketches of Bvlgari jewels carry the material detail into the rooms. Art and design books form part of the suite interiors.

Superior Rooms start at 35 square meters, with king beds, light oak paneling and cream linen. Bathrooms contrast dark Zimbabwe stone with white Navona travertine. The 40-square-meter Deluxe Rooms offer a king bed or two queen beds, a walk-in closet, a bathtub and a separate shower. Both categories can overlook the garden or a courtyard. A garden view is therefore a room detail to select, not a feature limited to suites.

Premium Rooms measure 45 to 50 square meters and also face either the garden or a Milanese courtyard. An entrance with a walk-in closet leads to a king bedroom. Beyond it, the bathroom pairs a black granite bathtub with a separate shower in white Navona travertine.

The 55-square-meter Junior Suite Garden puts its seating area within the large main room, behind floor-to-ceiling windows. A king bed and a garden view are part of this category. It has an open layout, without a separate living room. For families, the Two Bedroom Junior Suite adds a second bedroom with a king bed or twin beds. There is also a dining area.

The Bvlgari Suite is a 160-square-meter one-bedroom layout designed by Flaviano Capriotti. It has a living room and a private terrace overlooking Milan's skyline. Rare art and design books, Altai carpets and furniture from the Flexform and Maxalto collections sit alongside custom drapes and headboards bearing Bvlgari's eight-point star. An adjacent Junior Suite can connect to create a two-bedroom arrangement. The terrace is a particular distinction from the garden-facing accommodation below.

The Bvlgari Spa includes a pool, sauna, steam bath and ice bath. Treatments take place in four individual rooms, a couples' room or the separate Spa Suite. That suite has side-by-side treatment beds, a steam shower, a large hydromassage tub and its own relaxation area. Vicenza stone, teak, green and gold mosaic, and an eight-point star in green onyx give the space a different palette from the guest bathrooms. The Spa Suite requires a separate reservation.

Bvlgari Gymnasivm uses Technogym equipment and digital tools for fitness assessments and training programs. On-demand workouts are also available for use in your room. The spa applies age and adult-accompaniment restrictions, so families should confirm access for teenagers before visiting.

Once here, the private street opens onto a compact part of Milan: Brera, the fashion streets and La Scala provide several directions for a day out, with the garden waiting on your return.
