This is not a restored historic village, and that distinction matters. Opened in 2010, Borgo Egnazia interprets the region's architecture within a purpose-built resort. Dry-stone walls and pale tufo sit alongside gardens planted with jasmine, rosemary and olive trees. The piazza gives the scattered buildings a meeting point rather than leaving each accommodation area isolated.

The property has the services and variety of a large resort. It will not suit someone looking for a tiny, privately run masseria, but its layout gives a family group several ways to spend the day before meeting again for dinner. La Corte is the main house and the most hotel-like part of Borgo Egnazia. It contains Due Camini, Vair Spa and Bar del Portico, with rooms reached from the central staircase. The current hotel factsheet lists 64 rooms and suites here, alongside 92 rooms and casette in Il Borgo and 27 private villas plus Casa Padronale in Le Case.

La Corte Bella starts at approximately 33 to 37 square meters; La Corte Splendida offers around 42 to 46 square meters. Larger options include La Corte Magnifica and the 125-square-meter La Egnazia suite. The 194-square-meter La Emma combines a suite and junior suite, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and private gardens with a heated pool. It offers considerably more privacy than a standard room while keeping the central facilities close.

Age rules require attention before booking. From June 1 through September 30, and during Easter, Christmas and New Year's holidays, La Corte's rooms, pools and restaurants are reserved for guests aged 13 and above. Families with younger children should look at Il Borgo or Le Case for those dates.

Il Borgo is the village-style section, built around narrow lanes and a piazza. Its casette provide a useful step between a hotel room and a full villa. Casetta Splendida, for example, has approximately 90 square meters over two floors, with a main bedroom upstairs and a second room with bunk beds downstairs. A living and dining area, kitchen corner, courtyard and roof terrace allow a family of two adults and two children to spread out.

The bedrooms are on different levels, which is worth considering with very young children. A floor plan is more informative here than the room's name alone.

Le Case are independent villas with gardens and private pools. Casa Bella has about 250 square meters over three floors, accommodates up to six guests and includes two living areas and a fully equipped kitchen. Its pool starts at five by two and a half meters, so it is better understood as a private place to cool off than a lap pool. The villa's kitchen and indoor and outdoor dining areas are useful for a week with children or friends.

Casa Padronale extends to approximately 500 square meters for up to 14 guests. Its heated private pool measures at least 18 by 5.5 meters, and the house includes a kitchen with laundry equipment, a separate dining room and a cinema lounge. For a multigenerational gathering, those shared rooms matter as much as the bedrooms. Both villa types have stairs across three levels; discuss mobility needs before selecting a house.

Food is central to the experience. At Michelin-starred Due Camini, chef Domingo Schingaro's current cooking is vegetable-led, with seasonal dishes organized around individual ingredients. This is a more specific proposition than a conventional resort fine-dining menu. Read the current menu when choosing an evening here, especially if you have dietary requirements.

La Frasca takes the trattoria approach, with traditional Puglian recipes and local ingredients. Il Porticato overlooks La Corte's pools and provides a less formal option for salads, regional dishes and fish with seasonal vegetables. Breakfasts prepared by local Massaie remain part of the hotel's identity. Bar del Portico is a place for cocktails, while Cala Masciola brings seafood and drinks to the coast.

Dining plans should reflect the season and the age rules of the area concerned. Having several restaurants does not mean every table or venue is available on every evening.

The two beach settings serve different kinds of day. Cala Masciola Beach Club operates from May through summer, with loungers, cabanas and cocktails. It also welcomes visitors who are not staying at Borgo Egnazia, so it should not be described as exclusively for hotel guests.

La Fonte is the sandy, family-oriented option, with a playground, gazebo bar and shaded beds. That distinction is useful on this varied stretch of Adriatic coastline: a beach-club afternoon and a child's day building sandcastles are not quite the same outing. Check seasonal operations and access arrangements for your dates.

Back at the resort, outdoor pools are distributed between La Corte and Il Borgo, with family swimming beside the Kids Club. There is also a heated indoor pool that welcomes children. It gives a stay outside the main beach season another way to include swimming without relying on warm weather.

Vair means "true" in the local dialect. The spa uses that regional identity in treatments involving local herbs, natural fragrances and a combination of traditional and modern techniques. Therapists tailor the experience to the individual; the appeal is personal attention and time away from the busier parts of the resort, rather than a promised medical result.

Golfers have San Domenico Golf nearby, an 18-hole course between olive groves and the Adriatic, with views toward the ancient site of Egnathia. A round can sit comfortably within a broader family holiday. Tennis, padel and outdoor fitness facilities give non-golfers other active options, while cooking classes and olive-oil tastings bring the focus back to Puglia.

The clubs divide activities by age: Trullalleri for children aged three to seven, Marinai for eight to twelve and Tarantari for teenagers aged thirteen to sixteen. This is useful when siblings have moved beyond enjoying the same games. Check the program and supervision arrangements for the dates of your stay.

Da Frisella is a restaurant for children rather than simply a children's menu in an adult dining room. It serves broths, purées and other suitable food for the youngest guests, with simple dishes for older children up to twelve. Along with the casette and villas, it makes the family infrastructure a practical reason to consider the resort.

Bari and Brindisi are the airport options, while Fasano railway station is about five kilometers away. Arrange the final transfer in advance if arriving by train. A car or planned driver is useful for combining the coast with visits inland, rather than treating the resort as a town-center hotel.

Leave some time for the surrounding region. A cooking lesson or olive-oil tasting can add context to dinner back at the Borgo, and a day exploring Puglia gives the village-inspired design a real-world counterpart. The resort is most rewarding when its convenience leaves you free to explore, not when a full schedule turns the holiday into a list of facilities to use.
