Built in 2007, The Charles brings contemporary architecture to its garden-side address. Paolo Moschino and Philip Vergeylen worked with Olga Polizzi on the lobby, restaurant and bars. Their botanical theme carries through these spaces without making them identical. At reception, a curved plaster artwork by French artist François Mascarello provides a focal point behind the desk. Florio has two light sculptures by Haberdashery, incorporating 258 porcelain leaves.

A Classic Room measures 40 square meters and accommodates two guests, with a king bed that can be made into twins. A desk and sitting area share the room, while large windows look across the city toward historic buildings and Maxvorstadt. Contemporary artworks bring color to the interior. In the limestone bathroom, objects from Nymphenburg Porcelain Manufactory introduce a local craft connection alongside a bathtub and separate walk-in shower.

Deluxe Park View Rooms retain the same floor area but turn toward the Old Botanical Garden, with French balconies. Wicker details and green textiles bring that outlook into the room, while the limestone and marble bathrooms have heated floors. The distinction is primarily the view, so there is no need to move into a suite simply to face the garden. These rooms can also connect with another Deluxe Park View Room or selected suites, subject to the arrangement being confirmed.

For a wider outlook, the 40-square-meter Deluxe Panoramic View Room takes in Munich and, in clear weather, the Alps. The Classic Suite measures 67 square meters with city views, while the Signature Park View Suite has 73 square meters. Check the named outlook when selecting a category: a city-facing room and a garden-facing room give quite different perspectives on this address.

The Monforte Royal Suite occupies the top floor, with 200 square meters arranged around one bedroom, a study and a dining room. A grand piano stands in the sitting room, and the private terrace looks toward Munich's landmarks, including the Frauenkirche towers. Olga Polizzi and Magdalena Onisko created its interiors. The suite's individual rooms make it particularly relevant for a stay involving work or entertaining, while the bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe. Sea-green marble, a freestanding bathtub, two rain showers and a private steam room distinguish the bathroom.

The Two-Bedroom Family Room combines two Deluxe Park View Rooms into an 80-square-meter arrangement for four guests. Both bedrooms face the garden and have their own bathrooms. Larger groups can consider the Three-Bedroom Classic Suite, which joins a Classic Suite to two Classic Rooms, covering 147 square meters for six guests.

Practical family provisions include cribs, high chairs, bottle warmers and sterilizers; discuss what you need before arrival. Children's menus are available in the restaurants and through in-room dining, and babysitting can be arranged on request. The concierge can also organize city activities around the children's interests.

Florio Restaurant follows a classic Italian direction, with a seasonal menu created by Fulvio Pierangelini. Lunch and dinner are served daily in a dining room overlooking the Old Botanical Garden. On suitable days, the planted terrace extends the restaurant outdoors, with marble-topped tables and cushioned seating. It is a natural place to pause after a morning in Munich, with the garden still in sight. The restaurant recommends smart-casual dress and asks guests to avoid sportswear, shorts and beach shoes, a useful detail when planning to return directly from sightseeing.

Florio Bar continues the Italian theme through cocktails and small plates. Plants and botanical frescoes form the backdrop, and the interior leads onto the terrace. It gives the restaurant a companion space for a drink before dinner.

Circle Bar has a different character. Its Art Deco interior includes armchairs and antique gold lamps, with a Champagne selection, cocktails and small plates. The name refers to Mauro Staccioli's Ring sculpture outside the hotel. The wine list combines familiar Champagne houses with smaller producers, giving guests a reason to ask for guidance beyond their usual label. Books from the hotel's library offer company for a quieter visit.

The Charles Spa includes a 15-meter indoor pool and five treatment rooms. Around the bathing facilities are heated mosaic loungers, a Finnish sauna, a steam room and three foot baths. Treatments use Irene Forte Skincare. The facilities support a swim and time to rest without booking a treatment every visit, while the gym has Technogym equipment, free weights and cardiovascular machines. Its 24-hour opening is particularly useful after a late arrival or for an early workout. Personal training in the Old Botanical Garden and guided runs around Munich can also be arranged.
