Staying inside the park lets you see the falls at the beginning and end of the day. Sunrise and sunset visits can be part of the stay, with time to notice changes in the light and spray. The falls remain the center of the experience, close enough to revisit instead of treating them as a single excursion from town.

First Light is a two-kilometer morning walk developed in partnership with Leica Sport Optics. It follows the forest as daylight reaches the falls, giving an early start to a day outside. Advance reservations are required, and the walk depends on weather and availability.

The Full Moon Walk takes place after dark and is available only to hotel guests older than twelve. Under the right conditions, moonlight passing through the spray can create a lunar rainbow. This scheduled outing should be reserved in advance and is subject to weather and availability.

The building dates to 1958 and retains a Portuguese-style façade. Inside, wooden furniture, marble bathrooms and custom tiles sit alongside artwork and fabrics inspired by local flora. The room range includes garden and forest settings as well as selected views toward the falls.

Superior Rooms measure 18 to 28 square meters, with a queen or twin beds for two guests. Deluxe Falls View Rooms measure 24 to 30 square meters and also sleep two. The falls-facing category is available in the Main Building and Forest Building.

The Cataratas Suite has 83 square meters, a king bed and several balconies facing the falls and forest. It is in the Main Building and accommodates two. The Three Bedroom Cataratas Suite expands to 164 square meters, with two king beds and two twin beds. A rollaway allows a seventh guest. Its Juliet balconies look toward the falls and gardens.

Executive Chef Luiz Filipe Souza leads Restaurant Y, combining Brazilian ingredients and techniques with Italian influences. The name refers to the Guarani word for water, the meeting of the region's rivers and the borders of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. You enter through a terrace with views of the falls. The menu draws on Brazil's food traditions, with references such as cupuaçu, coxinha, moqueca and tucupi. Dinner is served daily from 7 to 9:30 p.m., with a smart-casual dress code.

Ipê Restaurant sits beside the pool and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast begins at 6:30 a.m., with Brazilian dishes and international favorites, and continues until 10 a.m. The rotating lunch selection includes salads, local dishes, pizzas and grilled cuts. On Friday and Saturday evenings, the restaurant serves Gaucho-style barbecue. Saturday lunch is devoted to feijoada. The dress code is casual, and dinner runs from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

At Bar Tarobá, the balcony is framed by rainforest foliage. The drinks list includes Brazilian cocktails, international classics and a broad selection of cachaça. Light bites, sharing plates and desserts are served alongside them. The bar opens daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with smart-casual dress. Y Terrace provides another open-air setting for drinks with views toward the falls.

The 310-square-meter main pool has an infinity edge and is heated throughout the year. A separate children's pool is nearby. In the gardens, a giant chessboard adds another way to spend time outdoors, while chess, checkers and card games are available in the Dom Pedro Room.

Cataratas Spa has four individual treatment rooms and a separate suite for couples. A relaxation room, sauna and steam room complete the bathing facilities, with hairstyling and beauty services in the salon. Its four Jasy signature treatments take their themes from the phases of the moon and use natural Brazilian ingredients. Guarani traditions inform the approach. When planning walks and excursions, leave time between returning from the falls and a treatment, and confirm available appointments with the spa.

The gym is open around the clock, and the tennis courts remain available until 10 p.m. Outdoor exercise equipment includes training kits, jump ropes and yoga mats. The hotel's fitness program also includes yoga, bicycles for exploring the surroundings and a 90-minute morning hike through the rainforest to the falls.

The Kids Club welcomes children aged four to ten, daily from noon until 8 p.m. Its program changes with the season and date, with activities such as treasure hunts, outdoor painting, garden games and storytelling.

The hotel supports Onças do Iguaçu, a conservation project that studies jaguars and works with communities around the Atlantic Forest. Research, education and awareness programs help people and wildlife coexist. The hotel hosts the conservation team during field campaigns and buys handmade goods from community projects linked to the initiative.

A visit to the Jaguar's Den introduces guests to the organization and its work within the park. This 90-minute outing includes transportation and a coffee break, with advance reservations required. It is a visit to the conservation team's base, and jaguars are not seen during the experience. The full cost is donated to the Onças do Iguaçu project.

Foz do Iguaçu International Airport, on the Brazilian side, is roughly half an hour away by car. The hotel can arrange an authorized airport transfer directly to the property. Private cars must stay outside the park, with a hotel shuttle linking the entrance parking area and the hotel about every twenty minutes, from early morning until midnight.

To visit the Argentine side, the hotel can arrange transportation and a guide. The outing follows Sendero Verde before taking the train from Cataratas Station to reach other walking circuits. Entry tickets for Argentina's park are purchased separately, and the border crossing requires valid travel documentation. This excursion is subject to weather and availability.

Why we love this hotel

Why we love this hotel

The heated outdoor pool offers a comfortable place to swim between excursions, so every day need not revolve around waterfall walks.

Restaurant Y works with regional Brazilian flavors and local produce, giving dinner a connection to the country beyond the scenery.

Tennis courts add an active alternative to guided excursions, allowing guests to enjoy a match without leaving the hotel's grounds.
