Direct access to the sand does not mean you should swim in the water immediately outside; follow the watersports team's guidance on conditions.

There are also two outdoor pools, including one reserved for adults. The main pool has two 75-foot lap lanes, useful when you want a measured swim rather than a dip in the bay. The beach and pool areas therefore work for several paces of holiday, without requiring everyone in a family to follow the same schedule.

Deluxe Rooms are listed at 360 square feet, with king beds that can be arranged as twins on request. Ground-floor rooms open onto the surf beach; upper-floor rooms have private verandas. Upstairs are a dining terrace and the bedroom. These are places for guests who actively want indoor-outdoor living, rather than a fully enclosed lounge.

The one-bedroom version measures 1,759 square feet, and a two-bedroom arrangement is listed at 2,756 square feet. Children under six are not accepted in either Bluff Suite configuration. Families with younger children should focus on the beachfront categories and confirm bed arrangements instead of assuming that a larger suite will be suitable.

Grace and Morris Bay Suites sit on the third floor of a beachfront villa. Each has a veranda with a private plunge pool and a three-walled lounge that opens toward the sea. The Terrace Suite occupies a higher position on the bluff, with an infinity-edge plunge pool and a daybed on its 567-square-foot terrace. These categories put private outdoor time at the center of the stay.

The 1,500-square-foot Cliff Suite has a separate bedroom and living room, a patio with a plunge pool, and a second terrace facing the surf beach. It gives a couple distinct places to read, rest or have a meal. The resort's pool-suite policy is adults-only, including the Terrace, Cliff, Grace and Morris Bay suites. Room choice here involves access and age rules as well as views.

The Tamarind Restaurant brings a sense of occasion to dinner with a changing five-course menu and candlelit tables. Fish features alongside other main courses, and live music continues the evening on the terrace. The dinner dress code calls for gentlemen to wear long pants, a collared shirt and dress shoes.

Sea Grape is an open-air restaurant at the end of the bay beach. Its evening cooking combines Italian and Antiguan influences, and dinner is for guests aged 13 and over. It does not operate dinner every night, so make reservations around the resort's dining schedule. Families with smaller children have early dinner arrangements on the Tamarind Terrace. Afternoon tea in the library offers a quieter pause overlooking the gardens.

Meals and drinks, including alcoholic beverages by the glass, form part of Curtain Bluff's all-inclusive stay. Cellar wines by the bottle, private dining and some specialist experiences carry extra charges. Spa treatments, lessons and airport transfers are also separate. The practical advantage is that everyday meals and many activities are already covered, while you can choose additional experiences deliberately. Check the total quote for applicable taxes, service charges and levies.

Tennis is a substantial part of the resort, with four floodlit hard courts and a pro shop. Court use is included, while private coaching is charged separately. The lighting makes an evening game possible, which leaves the cooler morning hours available for a different activity. Squash, bocce and fitness facilities provide alternatives away from the beach.

On the water, the program includes kayaking, Hobie Cat sailing, waterskiing and wakeboarding. Snorkeling trips head to Cades Reef, with equipment provided. Weather and sea conditions govern what can run, so keep some flexibility in the day's plans. Scuba diving and certain lessons are extra-cost activities, not an automatic extension of every included watersport.

Cee Bee Kids Camp welcomes children aged three to ten by the calmer beach, with crafts and games, a shaded play area and an indoor games room nearby. The camp follows a weekly schedule rather than operating every day. Older children can take part in suitable sports outside the camp program, while babysitting can be arranged for an additional charge. Families can share the beach without needing identical interests.

The Spa at Curtain Bluff covers 5,000 square feet and sits apart from the main resort, close to the sea. Treatments include massages, body polishes, facials and couples' sessions. A terrace and cliffside soaking tub make it worth allowing time either side of an appointment. This is a separate, paid part of the stay, with a quieter pace than the courts and watersports beach.

V.C. Bird International Airport is on the island's northeast side; the resort estimates the drive at about half an hour, depending on traffic. Arrange the transfer before arrival, especially when traveling with children or sports equipment. Back at the hotel, bedrooms have Wi-Fi but no televisions. Between that choice and the sea-facing terraces, evenings can end with conversation or a book, rather than another screen.
