Waldorf Astoria Park City

Waldorf Astoria Park City sits beside the Frostwood Gondola in Canyons Village, with winter access to Park City Mountain and residences that make a longer Utah stay practical. Fireplaces feature throughout the accommodation, while a heated outdoor pool and a substantial spa give non-skiers reasons to stay at the resort. Historic Main Street is a drive away. This is a mountain base with hotel service and residential options, rather than a downtown address for stepping straight into Park City's restaurants and shops.

The neighboring gondola carries guests to Canyons Village and the lifts serving Park City Mountain. The hotel describes the arrangement as gondola-out, ski-in access. That distinction matters when comparing ski hotels: the morning starts with a gondola journey, not a run directly from the front door. Frostwood normally operates during the winter season, approximately December to mid-April, subject to snow, weather, and mountain conditions.

Park City Mountain has 7,300 acres of ski terrain across its Canyons and Mountain Village areas. Ski Butlers handles equipment rentals and fittings at the hotel, with appointments available in the room or at Ski Valet. Boot drying and storage reduce the amount of gear returning to your accommodation each evening. Arrange fittings before arrival, especially when a family's first morning includes lessons. Deer Valley is a separate, ski-only resort; it is not reached by the Frostwood Gondola. The hotel can arrange winter shuttle transportation there on request, with schedules and availability confirmed through the concierge.

The property's 159 accommodations include guestrooms, suites, and residences. A king guestroom sleeps two, while a two-queen guestroom sleeps four. The Junior Suite adds a kitchenette and accommodates three. These are useful distinctions for a short visit: choosing a suite does not automatically increase the number of guests it can accommodate.

For a longer trip, the One Bedroom Residence with one king bed provides 740 to 877 square feet, a separate living room with a sleeper sofa, and a full kitchen. Two gas fireplaces, a dining table, and a washer and dryer make the layout particularly practical for a ski week. A balcony or terrace extends the living area outdoors. Bathroom arrangements vary, so specify your preference for a separate shower when reserving.

Residences extend to four bedrooms, including bi-level layouts. The four-bedroom category with two kings and three queens accommodates up to twelve. Check the exact bed configuration and occupancy, rather than relying on bedroom count alone; the two-bedroom options have different capacities.

Connecting rooms give families another option alongside the residences, and cribs or rollaway beds can be requested. A shared living room lets adults stay up after children have gone to bed, while separate bedrooms are useful when several generations travel together. Confirm the layout and sleeping arrangements for your particular group before choosing a category.

The family program includes Marley's Mountain Quest, with missions around the resort and Park City and keepsake pins to collect. Alpine Explorers, operated by Grateful Gathering, is a three-hour forest-school experience led by local naturalists. Seasonal crafts and outdoor exploration provide an alternative to another morning on the mountain. It requires advance booking, currently at least 72 hours, and should not be treated as an unrestricted daily kids' club. Children's menus and round-the-clock in-room dining also help when younger travelers need an earlier meal than the rest of the group.

Powder remains the resort's main restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a seasonal approach to mountain cooking. Its appeal is partly logistical: you can keep a meal close to your room after a full day outside, without turning every evening into a trip to town.

Within Powder, the bar and lounge operate as Après by Waldorf. Cocktails, wines, and dishes for sharing, including cheese fondue, make this the less formal part of the dining program. In the lobby, the coffee cart serves La Colombe coffee and pastries, useful before an early departure. Poolside dining adds a summer option, with lighter dishes and drinks around the water. For a wider choice of restaurants, plan an evening on Main Street; the hotel shuttle makes that possible without committing every day to a rental car.

The Waldorf Astoria Spa covers 15,000 square feet, with sixteen treatment rooms and relaxation lounges. Massage, body treatments, facials, and salon services give it a broader role than a small treatment suite attached to a ski hotel. A spa appointment can anchor a day away from the slopes, particularly when members of the same party have different interests.

The fitness program includes yoga, cardio sessions, and Reform RX Pilates among its scheduled classes. Classes generally take place on the fourth floor beside the fitness center, with selected sessions moving to the Grand Lawn in warmer months. Consult the current timetable for the class you want. Outside, the heated swimming pool remains open year-round, accompanied by hot tubs and a dry sauna. That year-round pool is useful for a mixed party: an afternoon swim can bring everyone back together after separate morning plans.

Summer brings a different reason to choose this side of Park City. Bike Butlers provides on-site e-bike rentals, while hiking routes range from gentle walks to more demanding climbs. Guided fly-fishing outings can be arranged through the concierge. Match the route or excursion to your experience and the day's conditions; a valley ride and a high-elevation trail call for different plans.

Canyons Golf is nearby, with eighteen holes through the mountain landscape. Reserve a tee time separately when building a golf stay around the hotel. Main Street's galleries and boutiques offer a less active afternoon, and the pool gives families an easy reason to return before dinner. The resort works outside ski season without depending on the winter gondola being open.

The address is 2100 West Frostwood Boulevard. Salt Lake City International Airport is approximately 34 miles away; the hotel's 35-minute driving estimate will vary with traffic and weather. Allow extra time in winter. Main Street is around 4.5 miles away, usually about ten minutes by car.

Transportation to Main Street operates year-round, with the shuttle schedule confirmed locally. Guests bringing a car use valet parking; self-parking is not available. The practical decision is how often you intend to leave the Canyons area. For a stay centered on skiing, a residence, and time at the spa, the location keeps those priorities together. Regular outings farther afield require a separate transport plan.

Why we love this hotel

Why we love this hotel

The outdoor pool stays heated year-round, giving guests a place to swim even when a winter stay revolves around the slopes.

Every accommodation has its own fireplace, providing a warm focal point for reading or relaxing indoors after a day in the mountains.

Après by Waldorf serves shareable dishes such as cheese fondue in Powder's lounge, creating an easy setting for gathering after outdoor adventures.
