This is an arid landscape, with bright days and a strong sense of space. Desert colors recur in the rooms, while mountain views give terraces and dining areas their backdrop.

Accommodation ranges from guest rooms to suites, The Retreats and two- or three-bedroom villas. Across the room collection, meditation channels, a singing bowl and a cushion bring Miraval's mindful approach into private space. The details are modest, but they give the rooms a connection to the resort's broader wellness focus.

The Native Spirit Room measures 400 square feet, with earth-tone decor inspired by the desert and surrounding mountains. Dreamcatcher Rooms range from 400 to 600 square feet and also draw on the Sonoran setting. Their meditation cushion and Tibetan sound bowl offer a tangible expression of the resort's philosophy within a conventional guest-room layout.

At 600 square feet, the Sunrise Room gives outdoor living a more prominent role. A wall of glass frames the Santa Catalina Mountains, and a private patio has fire pits. The bathroom features a soaking tub and outdoor shower, so the connection to the landscape carries beyond the bedroom view.

The 1,000-square-foot Sonoran Suite has a full living room, indoor dining for four and an outdoor lounge. A whirlpool bath adds another distinction. This is separate living space with a dining table, rather than simply a larger bedroom, giving the suite a more residential character.

The Desert Sky Suite measures 800 square feet and pairs a full living room with an elevated outdoor lounge for views of the night sky. The 900-square-foot Catalina Suite frames the mountains through a glass wall and adds an outdoor shower. These two suites give the setting different roles, through an elevated terrace or a view carried into the interior.

Miraval Suites range from 600 to 800 square feet, with a king-size bed and private outdoor lounge. Some have fireplaces, though that feature is not shared by every suite. Individual layouts and furnishings can vary across the accommodation collection.

The Solace Retreat is a 600-square-foot studio with a king bed or two queen beds. An indoor-to-outdoor shower, patio, hot tub and outdoor fire feature make the exterior space a substantial part of its design. It is a compact member of the Retreats collection, with a distinct outdoor component.

Reflection expands to 1,934 square feet, with one bedroom, a full kitchen and a separate living room. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors retract fully, opening the living space toward the desert. The kitchen and the opening glass wall give this retreat a markedly different layout from the standard rooms.

The three-bedroom Gratitude Retreat measures 3,120 square feet, combining shared living areas with private bedrooms. Villas extend the residential options with two- and three-bedroom layouts and private terraces. The distinction is in the arrangement of space: places to gather are part of the accommodation itself, alongside individual sleeping areas.

Miraval's Arizona experience menu spans yoga, meditation, fitness, culinary workshops, garden and bee activities, equine experiences and outdoor adventure. Guided hikes and the challenge course put the desert into the program, while other sessions take place in the garden, kitchen or at Purple Sage Ranch.

The Miraval Outback Hike explores rolling hills and mountain views. Sky Island Traverse is a challenge-course option, while Aerial Yoga brings another form of movement into the program. Purple Sage Ranch is the setting for equine experiences, including the Miraval Equine Experience.

Garden and bee activities include All the Buzz and Ask the Farmer. The menu also names Way of the Archer under outdoor adventure and Peace Among the Stars: Sonoran Stargazing. These experiences draw attention to different parts of the desert environment, including its gardens and night sky.

The Life in Balance Spa has a quiet room, Serenity Pool, hot tub, cold plunge, steam room and sauna. Its facilities extend beyond treatment rooms to spaces for swimming, heat and cooling water. The pool and quiet room give the spa a physical presence beyond an individual appointment.

Inside, jasmine scent and light fixtures inspired by desert sunlight carry the landscape into the spa in a less literal way. Treatments use ingredients such as prickly pear, Arizona clay and purple sage, bringing local materials into a part of the stay otherwise spent indoors.

Naga and Vasudhara were developed in-house by Miraval therapists. Vasudhara combines a warm-water float with Thai stretches and bodywork, a different format from massage on a table. The broader menu spans facials, massage and salon treatments, including manicures and pedicures.

Cactus Flower is the main restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with a patio facing the Catalina Mountains. Its seasonal menus use ingredients from the resort's garden. Food has a clear connection to the property itself, through both the produce on the plate and the view beyond the table.

Palm Court Café serves smoothies, snacks and drinks such as horchata smoothies and prickly pear iced tea. Oasis Pool & Bar offers fruit and refreshments beside the water, with desert views beyond. Coyote Moon Bar & Lounge adds cocktails, wine and small bites to the evening choices.

The Life in Balance Culinary Kitchen is an educational space for hands-on workshops alongside Miraval's culinary team. The activity menu names Artisanal Tacos, Modern Art of Sauces and All About The Egg among its sessions. Workshops introduce culinary tools and techniques for adding flavor and texture, giving guests practical ideas to explore in their own kitchens.

Just Cook for Me takes place in Miraval's kitchen. Guests sample chef-prepared selections from the daily menu as well as dishes created for the experience, paired with wine. The kitchen becomes the dining setting, with the chefs' daily dishes and additional creations at the center of the meal.
