The Florentin is a rebirth of Villa Speyer. This 1901 family banking mansion was known as Villa Kennedy for years before it went dark in the year 2022. Althoff's takeover kept the nine original villa suites. It also added modern rooms, all without harming the historic architecture. You'll forget that the glass towers of Frankfurt are three bridges away when you dine on the terrace in the central courtyard. Moreover, Sachsenhausen has lovely green streets that make visiting museums easy. Both restaurants are upscale and welcoming. The bar also takes its drinks seriously. The cigar room doesn't hold back. Plus, the indoor pool and spa treatment rooms are great for relaxing. Speyer was the original name for the villa built in 1901 by a wealthy banking family. A sage-green room features an original coffered ceiling, restored to its former color. The ladies' lounge and winter garden beautifully complete the historic suite. Villa Speyer was designed as a space for social interaction, something the Florentin wished to restore.
The hotel has reduced the number of guest rooms to just 147. This includes 49 suites, and the historical villa houses nine of them. The materials are simple and elegant: marble, travertine, or fabric-covered walls. There's also custom lighting with silk shades and handcrafted wooden furniture. Moreover, the sofas have been sized to allow you to work comfortably at the table. They are also equipped with sockets. The design team has worked with major design studios. This experience influenced their warm, minimalist style, which is distinctly Asian. The villa's nine suites and most public spaces reflect their style. The Royal Suite is also one of Europe's largest presidential suites. It measures 322 square meters. The balconies of some suites also overlook busy roads.
The Garden restaurant is usually the place to go when you want to eat at The Florentin. European favorites, like Dover sole in browned butter and truffle fries, are served at your table. Local favorites include schnitzel with Frankfurt green sauce. The restaurant also serves breakfast and lunch. Moreover, the Dune is the hotel's fine dining restaurant. Niclas Nussbahmer, a talented young chef from Germany, leads it. His last two Michelin-star-winning dishes combine classical French precision with Asian influences. Five rooms are available for treatments using products by Dr. Barbara Sturm. One of these rooms is specifically for couples. Day passes are also available for non-residents. Moreover, there is an indoor pool measuring 14 meters and receiving natural light. The pool has cozy loungers all around. In the sauna area, you will find a Finnish sauna, a bio sauna, a steam bath, and an infrared sauna. Each of these saunas offers different temperatures and ambiance. The gym comes with modern equipment. A hairdresser is available. Manicures and pedicures are also offered. Together, they complete the wellness package.
