In the 1700s, August, a Saxon King, constructed the Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden. He built it to express his love for his mistress. It was faithfully restored in 1995 to its former glory. You can find it right next to the oldest Christmas market in the world, "Striezelmarkt." It is in the middle of the historic city center of Dresden. From November to January, the 500-square-foot courtyards of the Hotel have an Ice Rink, which you can use. The Hotel was built in 1705 as a palace for Anna Constanze von Hoym, the wife of the Count of Hoym. The building was destroyed during the Second World War and rebuilt.
