Hotel de Crillon

Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel stands at 10 Place de la Concorde, facing one of the most ceremonial squares in Paris. Its neoclassical facade establishes the scale of the address before the smaller courtyards and residential interiors come into view. Art has a substantial place here, from paintings and photographs to sculpture. The result is a Paris palace hotel whose character comes as much from the rooms within the building as from its famous position on the square.

The hotel displays work by emerging artists in the lobby and Le Boudoir, with exhibitions bringing different perspectives into its public spaces. These rooms belong to a working hotel, with a Clefs d'Or concierge team, a boutique and a hair salon by David Lucas. Accessible guest rooms are also available. The concierge can arrange private transfers and help plan visits around Paris, while valet parking supports arrivals by car. The art is part of the everyday setting, not confined to a single gallery room.

There are 124 accommodations: 78 rooms, 36 suites and 10 signature suites. Deluxe Rooms measure 32 square meters and face the inner courtyards, with a queen or king bed and a marble bathroom. A separate rain shower and soaking tub are accompanied by underfloor heating. Premier Suites extend to 57 square meters, adding a separate lounge to the bedroom and bathroom. Their king bed and distinct living space give them a more residential layout.

Les Grands Appartements carry Karl Lagerfeld's design, including bespoke furniture and individual bathroom decoration. On the fourth floor, they look toward Paris landmarks including the Eiffel Tower and Place de la Concorde. Elsewhere, Suite Jardin has adjoining rooms, bookshelves and antiques, with a terrace overlooking the Cour d'Honneur. These are specific suite settings; courtyard-facing rooms have a different outlook from the landmark-facing signature accommodation.

The Salons Historiques extend the architectural interest beyond the bedrooms. Salon des Aigles occupies a listed historic setting overlooking Place de la Concorde and connects with the other salons for larger events. Salon Marie-Antoinette has a terrace looking toward the Eiffel Tower, the Invalides and the Grand Palais. Salon des Batailles contains original works of art and faces the square and the garden of the US Embassy. These are spaces for arranged celebrations and meetings, with the choice of room shaping the occasion as much as the menu.

Nonos & Comestibles par Paul Pairet takes a convivial approach to French cooking. The dining room centers on familiar recipes interpreted by Pairet, including roasts carved for the table, with cheese and desserts continuing the meal. Lunch and dinner have their own menus, and a separate children's menu is available. The tone is informal and sociable, an important part of the restaurant's identity within this grand building. Comestibles has its own menu alongside the main restaurant, keeping the two parts of the concept distinct.

Jardin D'Hiver serves breakfast and all-day dining in a plush salon setting. Afternoon tea and the work of pastry chef Matthieu Carlin give it a particular identity within the hotel. It can accommodate a full meal as well as a shorter pause over dessert, with soft furnishings and the decorative detail of a palace sitting room. The restaurant also has a dedicated children's menu and a separate afternoon tea for younger guests.

At Butterfly Pâtisserie, cakes and chocolates are presented in an interior inspired by fine jewelry. Carlin's pastries are available to enjoy on site or take away, so the experience is not limited to a seated afternoon tea. It is a distinct pastry address within the hotel, with its own menus for eating in and taking something home.

Bar Les Ambassadeurs faces Place de la Concorde, with a terrace beneath the arcades. Cocktails and live music draw both hotel guests and Parisians into the room. The view is part of the occasion, particularly for guests whose bedrooms face an inner courtyard. The bar works on a walk-in basis rather than taking reservations, and its dress code excludes shorts and flip-flops. This is an evening venue with a more dressed-up atmosphere than the hotel's all-day salon.

La Cave is a private dining room set among the hotel's wine collection. Meals here are arranged through the events team, with cooking by the hotel's culinary team. Its appeal is the enclosed wine-cellar setting and the ability to gather a party around a private table.

Sense, A Rosewood Spa brings an indoor pool, sauna and hammam into the heart of the property. Natural light reaches the spa, and a Himalayan salt wall is part of its interior. EviDens de Beauté is among the spa's skincare partners. The emphasis can remain on a swim or extend to a separately booked treatment.

The fitness studio has both cardiovascular and strength-training equipment, including free weights and resistance machines. It is open around the clock, which allows an early workout before breakfast or an evening session after returning to the hotel. Personal sports coaches can be requested for individual sessions.

Le Petit Crillon gives children their own way into the hotel. The program includes a costume closet, playful in-room setups and children's dining, with coloring activities and games accompanying the menus. The concierge can arrange food workshops and museum experiences designed for younger visitors. Families also have children's afternoon tea as an option. These details bring the hotel's interests in food, art and Parisian life down to a younger scale.

Concorde Métro station is close to the hotel, with Line 1 useful for traveling across central Paris. The location places the stay on the Right Bank, beside the Tuileries end of the Champs-Élysées. Rue Saint-Honoré and the Seine are part of the surrounding area, making the address useful for combining shopping with cultural visits. For rail arrivals, the hotel estimates roughly 20 to 30 minutes by car from Gare du Nord, depending on traffic.

Private airport transfers can be arranged. The hotel's indicative driving times are 45 to 60 minutes from Charles de Gaulle and 30 to 45 minutes from Orly; traffic can make either journey longer. The arrival point is the palace's Place de la Concorde address, while the nearby Métro gives guests another way to move around the city once their luggage is settled.

What to Know About Hotel de Crillon

Who should stay at Hotel de Crillon?

Hotel de Crillon is best for luxury travellers who want a Paris Palace hotel with a legendary address, Rosewood's residential luxury style, historic grandeur, contemporary design, strong wellness, elegant dining, and a social bar scene. It is less ideal for travellers who want a quiet village-style neighbourhood, a small boutique hotel, or the lowest-key version of Paris. For a grand, central, deeply Parisian stay, Crillon is one of the city's most compelling choices.

Is Hotel de Crillon good for couples?

Yes. Hotel de Crillon is outstanding for couples who want a romantic Paris palace with historic architecture, Place de la Concorde views, Bar Les Ambassadeurs, spa time, beautiful rooms, and a location suited to shopping, museums, and long walks. For the strongest couple's stay, choose a room or suite with a sense of occasion, plan one evening at Bar Les Ambassadeurs, and leave time for the spa or pool instead of filling every hour outside the hotel.

Is Hotel de Crillon good for families?

Yes. Hotel de Crillon can be excellent for families who want a palace hotel in central Paris with larger suites, family-suite options, an indoor pool, curated children's experiences such as Le Petit Crillon, and a highly polished service culture. Families should choose rooms carefully. Connecting layouts or larger suites are usually better than standard rooms, especially for longer stays or when jet lag and downtime matter.

Is Bar Les Ambassadeurs at Hotel de Crillon worth it?

Yes. Bar Les Ambassadeurs is one of the most important reasons to visit or stay at Hotel de Crillon. It is the hotel's iconic cocktail bar on Place de la Concorde, known for grand decor, inventive drinks, and live music. It is best for an elegant first-night drink, a late evening after dinner, or a moment when you want Paris to feel dressed up. Even guests who dine outside the hotel should consider spending one evening here.

What restaurants and bars are at Hotel de Crillon?

Hotel de Crillon's current dining and bar venues include Nonos by Paul Pairet, Jardin d'Hiver, Bar Les Ambassadeurs, Butterfly Pâtisserie, La Cave, and other hotel dining experiences. The mix is very Parisian: a French grill, all-day dining and tea time, pastry, wine, cocktails, live music, and intimate tasting-style moments. It works well for guests who want the hotel to have real life beyond the room.
