Four Seasons Hotel Montreal is built around a third-floor Social Square, where reception, MARCUS Restaurant, the terrace, lounge and bar combine into the hotel's main public stage. The open layout puts arrivals alongside the dining scene, with indoor access to the department store on the same level. Montréal designer Atelier Zébulon Perron shaped this space, while Gilles & Boissier worked with Philip Hazan on the hotel interiors. There is a clear emphasis on gathering here, with places for a conversation over coffee as well as a full evening out.

Art continues well beyond the lobby. Pascale Girardin's Contemplation suspends petal-like forms through nine floors of the inner courtyard, bringing a large sculptural work into the building's daily life. Photography by Michelle Bui appears in the sixth- through ninth-floor corridors; works by Evergon and Jean-Jacques Ringuette occupy corridors above. These are pieces encountered on the way to your room, giving the collection a presence outside the main public areas. The concierge can arrange a private art tour for a closer look at the artists and their work.

Bui's photographs combine organic and artificial materials in carefully arranged compositions. Evergon and Ringuette turn their attention to houseplants and domestic interiors, with images from their Winter Garden project. Together with Girardin's suspended petals, they develop the collection's idea of an urban garden within the building.

The hotel has 150 guest rooms and 19 suites, with accommodations on the sixth through twelfth floors. Superior and Deluxe Rooms measure 38 to 44 square meters and have king beds. The palette and materials favor soft textures, with generous bathrooms and closets that incorporate a luggage area. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring the surrounding city into view, while bedside controls operate the drapes. Coffee makers and kettles are practical additions, and a circular bar shelf holds cocktail glasses and a shaker.

Premier Carré Doré Rooms occupy floors nine through twelve. A chaise beside the window and a table for dining or work make the layout comfortable for time spent in the room. Mirrored panels open toward a freestanding bathtub; the bathroom can also be closed for privacy. These rooms measure 42 to 52 square meters and come with a king or two queen beds. The two-queen configuration accommodates two adults and two children, and connecting rooms are possible with either king or two-queen bedding. That creates useful options for families traveling together.

Executive Suites have a separate living area with a sofa bed, a king bed and city views. Their 62 to 69 square meters accommodate a small family or give a couple more room to spread out. The bathroom has a marble vanity, a separate shower and a freestanding tub, with glass doors that admit light from the bedroom when open. For families, the hotel also lists babysitting services, while laundry and pressing are available for longer visits.

The Signature One-Bedroom Suite has a more apartment-like arrangement. A living room with a fireplace leads to a dining area with seating for four, and a closed kitchenette contains a microwave. There is a walk-in closet, a full bathroom with two sinks, a steam shower and a separate tub, plus an additional half bathroom. Measuring 98 to 106 square meters, this suite can connect to a king guest room. The separate dining space and extra bathroom are particularly useful when the stay extends beyond a weekend or includes visitors.

MARCUS Restaurant + Terrace is the hotel's main culinary anchor. Executive Chef Jason Morris, who was born in Montréal and began his career working with fish, gives the kitchen a strong local identity. Seafood remains prominent, with dishes such as lobster pasta and Canadian black cod alongside vegetables and meat. Seasonal ingredients guide a contemporary brasserie menu with room for both a substantial dinner and a lighter meal. Breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner are part of the restaurant's repertoire, with the terrace extending the dining space above the street.

The Lounge + Night Bar has its own character and menus. Sharing plates accompany drinks in the lounge, while the Night Bar brings a more animated evening setting. The cocktail list moves beyond familiar combinations, using ingredients such as cardamom, tea and maple syrup alongside spirits. This gives the bar a distinct place in the hotel's food and drink scene, without requiring a full restaurant meal. In-room dining is also available around the clock, including for an early breakfast or a late arrival.

Guerlain Spa has eight treatment rooms, including a couples' suite where massages take place side by side. The treatment menu covers facials, massages and body care, with Guerlain products central to the experience. A Kneipp water circuit includes a walking trail underfoot, adding a different element to a conventional treatment appointment. Steam and an infrared sauna are also part of the facilities. The emphasis in choosing a visit can be straightforward: time for a facial, a massage together, or the water circuit, with no need to build a whole day around the spa.

The indoor pool sits beneath a skylight on the sixth floor. At 10 meters long, it has an upstream current generator that allows sustained swimming within a relatively compact space. Daybeds surround the water, and the enclosed setting keeps swimming independent of the weather outside. It is a useful detail in Montréal, where an indoor swim can remain part of a city stay throughout the year.

Also on the sixth floor, the 200-square-meter fitness center was designed by Harley Pasternak. Natural light enters the workout space above Rue de la Montagne, and access is available around the clock. Personal trainers can be arranged on request.

Rue de la Montagne meets Boulevard de Maisonneuve beside the hotel, placing business addresses and the Golden Square Mile's fashion and art shops close at hand. The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts is about a five-minute walk away, extending the art theme beyond the hotel. The Bell Centre is roughly ten minutes away on foot for concerts or a Canadiens game. Old Montréal and Central Station are a taxi ride away. The direct connection to Holt Renfrew Ogilvy is especially convenient when carrying shopping bags or avoiding poor weather.

Montréal-Trudeau International Airport is 20.8 kilometers from the hotel. Four Seasons estimates about 20 minutes by car, although traffic can lengthen the journey. Chauffeured transport can be arranged, and valet parking is available for guests arriving with a car.
