Best for

Bring the family if you want active days beyond the beach, with tennis, miniature golf, and a climbing wall within the resort.

What makes it special

Arrange an Anguillian cooking demonstration to see local dishes prepared with produce from the resort's farm, then enjoy the meal for lunch.

Room to consider

For ocean views through floor-to-ceiling windows, consider an Ocean View Deluxe Room in the Tower, which also has a seating area.

Insider tip

Check your children's heights before promising waterslide rides: riders must be at least 48 inches tall, while younger children have a splash pad.

Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club

Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club brings a rare sense of scale to an island known for intimate beach hotels. The resort occupies about 300 acres across Rendezvous Bay and Merrywing Bay, combining two beaches with 178 rooms, suites, villas, and residences. It is also home to Anguilla's only 18-hole golf course, a nine-hole short course, Sorana Spa, a waterpark, and an extensive sports complex. This breadth makes Aurora especially useful for families, golfers, and groups whose members want different ways to spend the day. The trade-off is distance: accommodations and facilities are spread among four distinct areas, and the resort shuttle is an important part of getting around.

The room decision begins with location. The Tower, Merrywing Beach, Rendezvous Beach, and Estates & Villas each create a different base within the resort. The Tower places 700-square-foot rooms near golf, the waterpark, and other active facilities. Island-view rooms look inland, while ocean-view rooms shift the emphasis toward the Caribbean. The generous floor plan suits guests who want more breathing room without choosing a suite, separate living area, or kitchen.

Merrywing Beach has oceanfront junior suites and deluxe suites, along with larger private accommodations. Junior suites measure 650 square feet, while deluxe suites provide 775 square feet and more expansive outdoor space in selected layouts. The five-bedroom Merrywing beachfront villa is designed for a group that wants a private pool, a kitchen, and direct access to the shore. This side also has a broad family pool and convenient links to golf and recreation.

Rendezvous Beach brings suites and villas closer to Sorana Spa, fitness facilities, the hydroponic garden, and several of the resort's central restaurants. Beachfront junior suites measure 800 square feet, and resort-view junior suites expand to 900 square feet. The one-bedroom beachfront suite offers 2,225 square feet, making it a strong choice for a couple or small family seeking a true living area. Three- and five-bedroom villas add kitchens, private pools, and indoor-outdoor space. Estate homes provide six bedrooms across about 6,300 square feet, with private pools and a residential rhythm suited to extended families or several couples traveling together.

Both bays place the Caribbean at the center of the stay, but choosing the right side reduces unnecessary travel across the property. Rendezvous Bay pairs a long beach with the spa, fitness, dining, and villa accommodations. Merrywing Bay combines its beach with oceanfront suites, estates, a family pool, and access toward the golf and entertainment areas. Non-motorized water sports are available at both beaches, so swimming, paddling, and time on the sand do not depend on crossing the resort.

Aurora is on Anguilla's southwest coast. Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport and the Blowing Point Ferry Terminal are both reached by road, giving guests practical links after a flight or ferry from St. Martin. The resort is also a useful base for exploring Anguilla's other beaches and restaurants, although its scale and range mean many days can unfold without leaving the grounds.

Aurora International Golf Club is the defining difference for golfers. The 18-hole course is the only one of its kind on Anguilla, with Caribbean and St. Martin views and holes that run beside Rendezvous Bay. Avalon Links adds a separate nine-hole short course for a quicker round or a less demanding introduction. Together, they make the resort credible for a golf-focused trip rather than simply a beach vacation with a course nearby.

The sports offering extends well beyond golf. Eleven pickleball courts anchor a substantial racquet program, with tennis also available. The entertainment complex adds miniature golf, basketball, sand volleyball, bocce, and a climbing wall. This concentration of choices is valuable for multigenerational groups: adults and older children can follow separate interests, then reconvene at the beach, pool, or dinner. It also gives a weeklong stay more range than a beach-only schedule.

The waterpark is a full recreation zone rather than a single hotel slide. Its zero-entry lagoon pool connects with a 1,400-foot lazy river, while three waterslides add a faster option. A separate splash pad gives younger children their own water setting. Elsewhere, the large pool at Merrywing and the pool at Rendezvous provide alternatives for families and adults who prefer a conventional resort-pool day.

A kids club, teen center, lawn areas, and an amphitheater broaden the family facilities. The useful distinction is choice rather than constant programming: beach time, golf, racquet sports, and waterpark visits can be balanced around a family's pace. Parents considering a villa or estate gain another advantage. A kitchen, several bedrooms, private outdoor areas, and a pool can make early breakfasts, quiet afternoons, and shared evenings easier to manage.

Dining is distributed around the resort, which allows meals to follow the day's location. Chef's Table offers a more focused culinary setting, while C Level places seafood and Caribbean flavors near the water. Tokyo Bay centers on Japanese cooking, D Richard's serves as the golf clubhouse restaurant, and Sole di Mare brings Italian dishes to Merrywing. Cafes, lobby bars, and in-room dining fill the spaces between longer meals without requiring every occasion to be formal.

A 10,000-square-foot hydroponic garden supplies herbs and produce to the resort's kitchens. It gives the dining program a practical connection to what grows on site and sits close to the Rendezvous side of the property. For longer stays, the range of restaurant styles matters as much as any single signature meal. Guests in villas and estates can also alternate restaurant dining with the flexibility of their own kitchens and larger gathering spaces.

Sorana Spa overlooks the Rendezvous Beach side and provides 12 treatment rooms, including two couples suites. The wellness facilities include steam and sauna areas, hydrotherapy, a fitness studio, a beauty salon, and a quartz-sand treatment table. Its position near Rendezvous accommodations is convenient for spa-led stays, while guests based elsewhere can reach it by resort transport.

Aurora Anguilla works best when its size is treated as an advantage to plan around. Couples may prefer a Tower room or beachfront suite with easy access to their main interests. Families can prioritize Merrywing, the waterpark, or a multi-bedroom villa. Golf groups gain two courses and a clubhouse restaurant, while longer stays draw value from residential layouts and a broad activity mix. The result is not a compact hideaway. It is a wide-ranging Anguilla resort where the right accommodation zone can turn two bays, extensive recreation, and ample private space into a coherent stay.

Why we love this hotel

Why we love this hotel

With accommodation on both Rendezvous Bay and Merrywing Bay, the resort lets you choose which stretch of Anguilla's shoreline to stay beside.

The International Course brings views of St. Martin and the Caribbean into your round, giving golfers a strong sense of Anguilla's coastal setting.

Sorana Spa's two couples suites give partners a setting for shared treatments, adding an experience they can plan together during their stay.
