The Little Nell is Aspen's only ski-in/ski-out hotel, designed by Holly Hunt. It is a short distance from the Silver Queen Gondola. The lobby, sitting room, guest rooms, town & junior suites, and hallways of The Little Nell were all designed by Hunt. This guarantees that the venerable and stylish hotel will always look current.

Aspen's only five-star, five-diamond Relais & Chateaux hotel is at the base of Aspen Mountain. They excel in their world-class wine program, which has produced more Master Sommeliers than any other venue in the United States. To top it all, the service here is exceptional.

Location

You'll be able to ski in and out of the hotel, which is only a few feet from Aspen Mountain's Silver Queen Gondola. Moreover, the hotel can easily stroll to Aspen's retail, eating, and entertainment districts.

Style and Character

Intentionally or not, Little Nell has the look and feel of a high-end, contemporary home. It is in-vogue and vivacious. Home designer and part-time Aspenite Holly Hunt were involved in the design of the space.

The Little Nell's fireplaces are fashioned out of locally obtained stone rather than the standard brick in most mountain lodges. Furthermore, Michelle Grabner and Theaster Gates are current artists whose work you'll see on display. They are two of the world's most powerful and influential artists.

Service and Facilities

The Little Nell's devoted staff may take care of all your needs. This includes unpacking your baggage, steaming your shirt, and checking off your shopping list while skiing. In addition to storing your equipment overnight, the ski concierge crew will warm and help you put on your boots in the winter mornings. Moreover, the adventure concierge team organizes cycling and climbing adventures throughout the summer.

The hotel's staff will also bring your canine exquisite room service if you bring your dog along. They provide food and water dishes as well as pet-sitting services. Guests will also appreciate the hotel's outdoor pool and hot tub. In addition, the spa's steam chambers in the men's and women's locker rooms overlook the mountain range.

A store specializing in scarves, candles, and jewelry is open to the public. There is also a 24-hour ski concierge and free Wi-Fi in all guest rooms and public spaces. Plus, there is a heated outdoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, and spa. Besides, room service is available around the clock.

The Aspen Mountain Club's private spaces can accommodate weddings and social functions of up to 500 people. Furthermore, you may take advantage of the complimentary airport shuttle for an additional fee (available 24 hours). Concierge services, baggage storage, and dry cleaning/laundry are available at the 24-hour front desk.

Rooms

The Little Nell is famous for its grandeur. Hunt's design embodies it by providing visitors with a degree of comfort that is second to none. 11 suites and three flagship suites are among the hotel's 92 guestrooms. Moreover, expect studio H furniture and minibars packed to the gills. Gas-burning fireplaces and Crestron technology are just a few amenities in the hotel's rooms.

Additionally, the minibar has complimentary food and non-alcoholic beverages if you're feeling a little hungry. Bluetooth speakers and an in-room video-on-demand system are the hotel's modern features. Most rooms also have balconies. Furthermore, gas log fireplaces are standard in all 92 rooms and suites, and many guest rooms have balconies.

The bathrooms include heated marble floors, double vanities, tubs, and showers. Besides, Champalimaud Design has remodeled all rooms, bringing in new colors, fabrics, and furniture.

Bars and Restaurants

The hotel's main restaurant's new American food at Element 47 is excellent. But it's the wine that's the real star here. Carlton McCoy, Master Sommelier, offers 25,000 bottles, including some that cost more than 10,000 USD. So first, tour the funky wine cellar. This dimly-lit dungeon is filled with red lamps and blaring hip-hop classics.

Additionally, one may choose lemon soufflé pancakes and other specialty items for the complimentary breakfast from the main restaurant's buffet. Get the Gouda cheese, onion straws, and barbeque mayo-topped burger for lunch. Besides, they serve lamb, Brussels sprouts, and scallions with the carrots and Brussels sprouts at supper.

The Living Room lobby bar has a two-sided fireplace. Many other eating choices, including Chair 9 and Ajax Tavern, cater to the post-ski crowd. Chef Bryan Moscatello serves American Alpine cuisine with fresh ingredients from Colorado's Front Range. From 11 a.m. until closure every day, Ajax Tavern provides French American bistro food.

Family-Friendly

The Little Nell is, without a doubt, a family-friendly hotel. The hotel provides them with bathrobes and slippers as a special treat for kids. There are also board games and a kid-friendly room service menu. Babysitting services are also available.

Area and Attractions

Guests may book all kinds of experiences via The Little Nell Adventures. These include mountain biking, road cycling, and fly fishing expeditions. Besides, it operates the only licensed Hardy Fly Fishing store in North America, situated at the resort.

Access for Guests with Disabilities

Four guestrooms enable access for visitors with disabilities. Plus, all hotel outlets have elevators and ramps. In addition, the Silver Queen Gondola provides accessibility to the top of Aspen Mountain for guests with disabilities.

Takeaway

Since significant renovations were completed in 2009, the property has become a home and a luxury hotel. With its self-described "famous service," the hotel goes above and beyond to meet the needs of its guests. For example, it offers complimentary Audi vehicle rentals to a specialized ski concierge team. Moreover, furry buddies also get customized meals and welcome gifts. However, all of that extra care comes at a cost. A per-night donation to a local environmental charity is required of all visitors to the hotel.
