Hotel Bayerischer Hof

Hotel Bayerischer Hof is a legendary hotel in Munich that King Ludwig I originally conceived. It was built in 1841 and is well known as the home of the Munich Security Conference. Friedrich von Gartner designed the plans, and Joseph Anton von Maffei constructed the hotel.

Some famous past guests include Sigmund Freud, the Austrian neurologist, and Empress Elisabeth of Austria. Others who recently visited the hotel have actors Woody Allen and Nicholas Cage.

Guests can enjoy the Blue Spa with the scenic Munich view created by Andrée Putman. It is famous for its barbecues in summer and ice bars in the winter. Besides, Axel Vervoordt designed the Cinema Lounge, which boasts a nightclub with live Jazz, six bars, five restaurants, and a theatre.

The Cinema Lounge is so extravagant that heads of state and celebrities worldwide come to enjoy it. In addition, the Bayerischer Hof hotel is home to the newer restaurants, Garden and Atelier, designed by Axel Vervoordt.

The guest rooms are all designed by famous architects and are available in various styles. Visitors can enjoy open fireplaces, terraces, and breathtaking views. There is also access to a private spa if they stay in one of the top-floor suites. Moreover, according to numerous other European hotels, the Bayerischer Hof was voted among the best grand hotels.

A Samsung flat-screen TV with a wireless keyboard is standard in every room. It has over 380 channels, 200 feature films, news, and information services.

Dining

Luxury hotels boast luxury cuisine, and the Bayerischer Hof hotel is no exception. The hotel has five different restaurants for guests to choose from. The most popular of these is the Atelier, where you will find Chef Jan Hartwig.

Moreover, he is the head chef for the restaurants. As a result, the hotel also boasts some of the best Haute cuisines around - a piece of art on a plate.

The exceptional Belgian interior designer and art dealer Axel Vervoordt created the dining rooms. The luxurious yet, simple design spreads an artistic flair with a unique, intimate atmosphere. The Silent Garden hides behind a mobile wall designed by Dirk Vander Eecken and features maple trees on a small terrace and a cozy Prive.

End your evening at Falk´s Bar with a glass of Champagne or a local beer.

Takeaway

The Bayerischer Hof Hotel is within walking distance of Munich's old town area, with the most sought-after attractions only a short walk away. For example, the famous Lutheran church, Frauenkirche, the Church of Our Lady, is just two minutes from the hotel.

The church was once Catholic, but during the Reformation became Protestant. If you go 2.5 km on Blumenstrate, you will find Viktualienmarkt, the famous farmers market known for exotic fruits, game, poultry, fish, cheese, juices, and freshly cut flowers.

After 9 am, you can enjoy a beer at the Biergarten if you head to the market. Then, heading east for 8 minutes, you will come across the Hofgarten Court Garden, built in 1613 by the Bavarian Maximilian Elector in an Italian Renaissance garden style.

In the center of the Hofgarten, you will find the pavilion built for the goddess Diana. In addition, there are numerous museums, ancient buildings, and even the opera to enjoy on top of all these attractions - a perfect place for a family getaway.
